I grew up as a kid in awe of a television program called the Twilight Zone.
I'm quite sure I've seen every episode at least 3 times. But when did the
creator of this program change his name? When did Rod Sterling become
Rod Serling? I looked on Google and unless my eyes are playing tricks on
me his name is now spelled differently. What the 'bleep'?! Strange.

It's always been Serling. I remember my mom back in the 70's correcting me when I called him Rod Sterling.

Just look here already.

And @ 40 seconds into this youtube video of an interview with Rod Serling you can clearly hear the interviewer say his name "Serling".

are you talking original or reboot? What does IMDB tell you?? Also, check the user images of original vhs and dvd prints of the shows on ebay, or even ask the seller to confirm. There has been more things like this getting noticed lately, and it is possible its all related.

He's always been Rod Serling. I don't remember it ever being any other way.

I also remember it being SERLING.A more unusual surname, guess that's why it stuck in my mind. But there seems to be a lot of discrepancies lately in peoples' mind on how they remember things and how it is now.Weird.Like Kit-Kat and KitKat

Back when smoking a cigarette during an interview was normal.
I just wanna smoke a cigarette on an airplane, just once. Thats the first thing I would do if I had a time machine.

The first reaction/instinct is usually the correct one..cue spooky twilight zone music.

In my timeline the Twilight Zone is a themed amusement park for losers who liked the book series.

Funny you mention this avatar as I'm
presently creating a new one.

Nope just got home checked my boxed set Twilight Zone DVDs still Rod Serling...

Even wiki still agrees with me

en.wikipedia.org...

I think that perhaps you remembered it as Sterling because Serling is not a common spelling, rather than look different when we're young we tend to conform more.
