Rolling Stones Ask Donald Trump to Stop Using Their Music

“The Rolling Stones have never given permission to the Trump campaign to use their songs and have requested that they cease all use immediately,” a spokesperson for the legendary British band told TIME Wednesday.

And not sure what to make of this:

Trump has been known to play at least two other songs by the Rolling Stones at his rallies:
“You Can’t Always Get What You Want,”
“Sympathy for the Devil” and “Brown Sugar.”

A campaign volunteer told the New Yorker in February that Trump personally curated the playlist,

which also includes Elton John and music from “Cats” and “The Phantom of the Opera.”

And I have to admit that it is strange that he hand-picked this song for when he takes the stage?

A lot to read into that if you chose too.. "Im a man of wealth and taste" kinda obvious,
"I shouted out who killed the Kennedy's" a nod to his pandering to conspiracy theories ...just this week accusing Ted Cruz's father of that precise crime.

That's what everyone has been asking for a year now.

As far as your growing admiration...I am pretty sure Trump could fart directly into the Microphone at his next rally and his followers would love him more.

I think he showed in his speech that he did indeed have sympathy for Ted.

with both parties, this comes up all the time, and it usually pretty embarrassing for the pol, its a big rejection

Sympathy for the devil is a good song, everyone likes the beat, who takes it as a swan song? Who wants to identify with the top of the world and the devil at the same time…

Frankly it depends on the Politician..

Fleetwood Mac's "Don't Stop" was Bill Clintons campaign theme song and they ended up playing at his Inaugural party.

Not to be partisan, but keeping it real...as far as I am aware these issues come up with GOP candidates almost exclusively...if not exclusively.

Weren't there some crazy people that were calling Obama Satan too - by playing back his 'Yes We Can' statements in reverse. I remember it, it was hilarious. These people were actually serious. I think it happens every time a man rises to power.

I'm actually surprised he hasn't done that yet. It certainly seems like the kind of thing that would appeal to he's main supporter base... given there ability to grasp an intellectual thought process.

Yes Kid Rock played/performed for Mitt Romney's campaign...But I doubt Mitt Romney had ever heard a Kid Rock song before that

But as far as Musicians stepping in and telling campaigns to stop using there Music, that has only occurred with GOP candidates as far as I am aware.
