The War scroll (1QM) of the Dead Sea Scrolls once thought to be the property of the Essenes leaves one with little doubt that this is the not work of the peaceful Essene order of the ancient world.

It is actually the work of a zealot like radical Israelite sect called the Zaddikim. The Righteous ones in English. They believed that they were the Sons of Light and the outside world was the sons of darkness. The leader of the angels of darkness is usually called Belial. They(Zaddikim) were also referred to as Ebionim (poor ones) and Chasidim (pious ones), so they may have had sub-sects. James the Just gets his name from his title (James) the Zaddik, the leader of this community. He would be chosen to lead the Nazarenes and the Apostles after the death of Jesus even though he was not known to be a member of his brother's movement until very late and was not one of the 12.

What would be the downfall of the Zaddikim was the Apocalyptic obsession of this cult and other similar movements whose desire in life was to have a final battle with Belial and the Kittim (Romans) driving them out of Judea and then systematically conquering the nations of the world in a decades long war in which the angels of the Most High would be on their side.

The War Scroll was a real battle plan starting with the troops of Edom, Moab and Ammon. Then Philistia and the Kittim of Ashur and those who violated the covenant and support them. Egypt and after them the sons of Japheth and Assyria.

It goes on to describe in exquisite detail everything from the weapons to the banners and blowing trumpets. Recruit requirements and the deployment of cavalry. Prayers. And an epic final battle in seven engagements with the Kittim and a victory prayer.

A real life plan for an apocalypse. Only problem is the opposite would happen and the Kittim would expel them from Judea with their overwhelming might and every Israelite with them ending with the battle of Masada.

I find this thread ironic

Versus

Once you are anything but neutral you are neither

Hence God knew what he was doing all along giving people free will that's what you call unconditional love

In both cases your path to god it's shaded, you get lost in versus delusion

I think that it shows what happens when you become obsessed with your god to the point you think that your religion is the truth and the rest of the world deserves to be ruled by you after an apocalyptic battle between good and evil.

Unfortunately we still have people like this walking the earth hoping for a repeat of this tragic real life Armageddon.

That's what I find ironic.

Indeed, any versus scenario is not a peaceful one.
