The half game is better for me. It's plenty complex but not something one has to think 10 moves ahead about. For one, you can't--not knowing what each upside down piece yet unturned is.
Each game STARTS differently because of the randomizing of upside down pieces. I like that, too.
I saw the rules once on a major chess board. I don't recall which one it is. I can beat all but about 5% of Taipei college students--if those I tried are any clue.
