Lol, what you wanna do if it's a stalemate? Wear each others avatar for a day or just a rematch?

Well, I hadn't thought of that as I can't fathom it happening LOL.

But, perhaps we should wear each other's avatars (in shame) AND a rematch!

Just in case, though, I am preparing to send you my avatar...to try on for size.

My username on Chess.com is SkepticGuy, and I've been playing there about two years.

Sometimes I do well, and other times I get the stupid because I'm still coming to terms with the 2D board. There's other places to play, but I've tried others and think that Chess.com has the best overall UI and underlying tech.

Hahaha! You're a confident one aren't ya!
I reckon I'll scrape a stalemate so deal, wear each others when it happens lol

And shout out to anyone else reading this, come join this fledgling informal chess club if you enjoy the game, you can find me as ATSgrainofsand. Especially those who probably hate me lol, let's battle on the chess board for a while instead of within debate.

Ah that's the thing with chess, it really is a beautiful game, and every time I get done I learn more.
Don't be counting any chickens though, no fat lady has sung yet...she's just waiting in the wings right now.

One of the really helpful things with a chess platform like Chess.com is that you can use the analyzer to better see what your moves, and the outcome of your moves, will look like... and also that of your opponent. That has helped me realize what's bait, and not an opponent's apparent blunder.

Ooh, I've never clicked on the analyzer thing, I'll take a look

...you proper done me then, quickly haha! I learned another chess lesson.

Yeah, well... always look a gift horse in the mouth. That free knight was the beginning of bad. Sorry.

Also, the right-facing arrow at top-right opens up the explorer. It shows opening moves, and the effectiveness for each side, of each. It's perfectly legal in "correspondence chess," which is what day-chess is on Chess.com, to reference this data. It helps you understand different opening strategies, and start getting feel for how important those first few moves are.
