You're right it isn't, but "Vaping in the Gender-Neutral Bathroom" just doesn't have much of a ring to it.

I'm sure you would have been totally happy having any of the hair band gang in the bathroom with you daughters though.

Is this just ignorance in not understanding what transgender is?

No.

It is a joke.

Why do first world problems seem to take so much importance on ats. There are always workable solutions to these issues, but people pretend like it's some life or death issue

If things get too bad, just use a disabled cubicle. Just say you have a mental disability.

Why did we have to know?

This all started in the schools with children and in the high schools and junior highs with locker rooms. It has since flooded out into larger society.

Why hasn't it just remained a locker/shower room issue?

Transfolk don't get urinary tract infections from not taking a shower. Why conflate it to bathrooms which haven't been perceived as a problem until now?

It seems that changing your gender on your birth certificate is a state by state policy.

There is a time, such as Civil Rights, Disability Act, Marriage Equality - - - that Federal needs to step in.

This is one of those times.

I do know the Obama administration wants to include LGBT in the Civil Rights Act as a protected minority.

We all know who is preventing that.

I guess those post-op folks who have not had their BC changed (if they are legally able depending on where they're from) they are SOL in that town.

THAT is a problem, when a post-op is legally NOT able to use a public restroom in this town.

Three states will not change a birth certificate for any reason. Folks that have changed sex are now criminalized no matter what they do. This also applies to the entire state of North Carolina.

Nine states do not require proof of sex reassignment surgery to change a birth certificate.

That kind of throws a wrench into "show your papers to pee".

i am not saying there are not beautiful southern bells out there and isolated places of beautiful scenery, just not much and the big citys are enough to make me never want to go back. I have never seen trailer parks that went father then the eye can see and so many porn and liquor shops in such a condensed area, dont get me wrong i like booze and would be lying if i said i have never seen a porno, but at some point there is too much.

also the first 3 people i met tried to get over on me. It was a sad state in which i saw the south and i stand by my post, but my apologies to you ma'm no offense intended

"Your papers please" was more tongue in cheek.

Your knowledge of the actual laws regarding BC change in various states proves MY point, that, depending on where one is from, one may not be able to legally change one's BC to reflect a post-op reassignment. Hence, going back to the first page of this thread, when determining one's "birth" gender as opposed to one's reassigned gender, if one's BC says male but one now is biologically a female, one would be breaking the law (in this Alabama town because it says BIRTH gender) by not going to the male restroom when one is in fact a female—even if one was not legally allowed change one's BC to reflect reassignment.

No wrench thrown at all, but an inability by you to see my point in the context of the issue that was initially being discussed in this thread and on which I was commenting.

Just chill out.

Chill out about what? Does this affect you at all? All I did is confirm that the birth certificate thing has flaws because some that have had surgery to change sex cannot get a birth certificate that reflects that and that there are states that will change a birth certificate when someone has not had the surgical corrections.

Although penalties and enforcement haven't been worked out, it is now against the law to use a bathroom that doesn't match the sex on your birth certificate in the entire state of North Carolina.

"Papers to pee" doesn't seem too tongue in cheek to me.

I think I restrooms should be open to both sexes. We're all supposed to be equal so let's just do settle this debate once and for all. No one should be forced to suffer the indignity of being unable to piddle whenever or wherever they are. Why should women be forced to stand in line waiting to p*** when men can walk in, do their business and come out before their female counterparts wait painfully outside. The only institutions to oppose this would be the sign makers right? Oh, the humanity of it all. Why can't we all just get along? / sarcasm off

A woman can walk in and pee. How much longer does it really take to go in a stall and sit down.

The fact they don't, and take forever, doing who knows what, is extremely annoying.

They go in groups so they can gossip. Has nothing what-so-ever to do with bodily function.

Should be a Federal and all state policy. The sick Satanic Nazis in this country want to ruin it. No better way to do that but through stupid God hating rules and twisting the minds of our young people.

Men are Men and Women are Women. Women do not want pedophiles or mentally warped people in their bathrooms!!!!!!
