Inhale to the count of 4, then exhale in 2...(seconds)

Tell her to try to breathe from her belly instead of her chest.
And then tell her all her "aunties" are sending her love and positive energy...and she will be great!!!

She's in beginner classes. They have a meet doing these simple routines on each station. Nothing serious yet. She's been to the bathroom 6 times already . Poor nervous girl.

Yeah, what jacy said - another method: inhale to the count of 4, hold it for the count of 4, exhale to count of 4, and rest. If she focuses on her breathing, she won't focus on being nervous.
