Question, is it rules that the acronym should mean something relevant to the word?

I attempt that every time but if it's just about random unconnected phrases made up of words which happen to start with the letters then that is different.
I'm easy either way, just checking what the deal is because it's way easier just making up unconnected phrases from the acronym.
