I rarely do breakfast beyond a few spoonfuls of almond butter and Nutella.

However, a few of these gadgets look and sound attractive and worth a try.

Some of them are a bit tooo cutesy for my taste. Some are more than a little borderline silly--but probably of significant value if you have young kids in the home.

And some are probably more trouble than they are worth past the first time or 3 with the kids.

However, that's the view of 'a fossilized old fart' approaching 70. Some moms and homes might find a lot of them a real kick.

I think the article is worth a look, in any case.

Thanks for your kind reply and input.

I thought that was cute. I thought it would be wonderful with young children.

Or, perhaps as something to take to a pot-luck with lots of kids present.

LOLOL.

A pottery master friend of mine makes them by hand. He and his wife love them.

I think you have to dink with it a bit to find out exactly how many pieces go with how much time for your particular microwave.

They found that ~1 minute per piece, IIRC, was about right.

BTW, I doubt that bacon needs any HELP to be carcinogenic! LOL.

Maybe it's not the MOST healthy thing in my diet. I don't know. I know chocolate is good for the heart--dark chocolate--probably darker than that in Nutella. LOL.

However, it does enhance the almond butter and THAT is wonderful stuff.

However, the NATURAL GROCERS outlet here is out of it about 80% of the time! Sheesh!

Guess I'm going to have to start grinding my own. What a stupid move on their part. It's been that way for many months.

One of my favorites is a stacked: toasted waffle, pan heated slice of ham, and a over-hard egg with syrup.

MMMMMMMMMM sounds plenty good, alright.

Particularly given that I'm partially fasting this week. LOL.

Thanks for your kind reply.

I had to fast last week for a blood test. It was funny because after the test, I didn't eat for the rest of the day. The appetite went under-the-radar so I waited till it came back and had some salmon and greens.

The gadgets are crazy...or some of them are. I really like the egg separator bogeyman doodah. The others less so and especially the breakfast sandwich maker. It looks like a lot of trouble when frying an egg and (as APE says) grilling bacon takes five minutes anyhow.

The glass-fronted toaster is sorta appealing for those times when different breads toast at different rates. It'll be a heck of thing to keep clean and the inside of the glass would eventually get that browny, oily staining on it.

I hope you're well friend

The perfect bacon:

- line a cookie sheet with parchment

- lay down bacon in a single layer

- heat oven to 350

- bake for about 12 minutes

The bacon comes out with a nice meaty texture, and isn't curly.

My next favorte way to make bacon is to start with a cold skillet, turn it on and slap the bacon down in a single layer. 7 minutes on the first side, 5 minutes when you flip it.

For bacon we use our stove top griddle.

Son's favorite breakfast item is pigs in a blanket. Get some of those breakfast sausages, brown 'em, wrap some croissant dough around and bake at 350 for about 12 minutes. Husband them reheats one every morning for about 10 minutes in a low oven.

Yeah, the sausages aren't the healthiest, but he always gets some fruit with 'em and it gets him going in the morning.

We've always made do with the basic equipment. Gadgets end up living in a drawer for the most part. For example, and egg separator? Eh, just use the two halves of the shell.

Thanks much for your kind reply.

I laughed at the egg separator. However, it still kind of gave me the willies. LOL. Of course . . . with sinus troubles 63 or so of my 69 years . . . it was a little toooooo real!

Agreed on the rest of your critique.

Hope you and loved ones are well, too.

Trying to be a reformed, good boy, here.

Happy weekend to you and yours.

I didn't realize you were a bacon maestro! Sounds like a winner--particularly for making BLT's.

Have a great weekend!

BTW, you have a different comm.
