So it would be ok with you if someone came and stripped you of your assets and left you on the streets to just say sorry its darwinism?

The level of crime and rioting we saw recently would pale in comparison to the death and destruction that would follow.

Bad Idea when we could just expand space operations to include mining and technological development and simply tax those industries to get the revenue to reform the system and go from there instead of just telling people that there is no hope for them or "Man/Woman up..it's Darwinism".

If you have never been shot at in the streets prepare to be after implementing that policy nationwide.

Yeah let's add more taxes because that's helped.

Actually I'd rather empower individuals and small businesses by forgiving the tax burden they already carry and the amount of money they have to spend on hiring people so we could have more entry level jobs for everyone who can't find work.

This is real basic

Yeah and there are even more people exploiting these resources for their own personal gains, the Hasidic community for one comes right to mind - There is hardly any over site for most of these programs and they are easily exploited by people that don't need the service (look at disability- almost anyone can get it if they try hard enough. Why do you think they pushed disability payments from State tax money to National tax money). Force people to be dependent on the system and in return you get slaves to the system. It hurts the country much more then it helps -

It's also real basic that we've been doing exactly this since Reagan and trickle down never worked.

Go fish.

Flags and stars only indicate there's a clubhouse atmosphere at ats.

Huh? What's obvious?

Wanna start fixing this country? You begin with the money, taking it out of politics so the wealthy can no longer control it, well in that way cause I'm sure they'll find another! You begin by fighting corruption, not taking food off the table of the poor.

Do you love Jesus? Do you think he'd agree with you?

True perhaps.

But remember the House that passed the Reagan bills was a Democrat majority.

Hmmm.

During the 'great depression' poor people lived on Dandelions, the leaves, and the roots, plus whatever meat could be caught, birds, rabbits, other rodents, you really want to see that again?
I would like to see YOU exist without a wage, or food stamps, or any of the other entitlements you may receive.

Realllllly?? This response of yours is articulate and well thought out?

Do gooders have a tendency to do a lot of damage.

I don't think those words mean what you think they mean.

Immediately!?!!

What is it with extremes lately.

How about the concept of phasing out certain social programs, while figuring out which people actually need them, and discontinuing those scamming the system.

What about the disabled, and/or war veterans? Single parents that might be single because a spouse just died?

"I've come to the realization that the biggest problem holding back wage increases and purchasing power in the US economy is social welfare and corporate welfare and other safety nets that prevent small businesses from paying higher wages and building capital for expansion. "

Why is that even problem in the US? Look at the minimum wage in Australia (over $17/hour). Even Canada sits around $11 and has plans to raise it more yearly than they have been. There might not be as much socialism in these two countries as the US, but there are still some safety nets. And our minimum wages are higher...

Ooh....⬆️ I think I just answered myself in the last part of that - not as socialist as the states.....

Damn that's a good question.

Hey onequestion, how do you feel about the intellectually disabled receiving all of the money from the gov't? Do we cut that too?

All I can say is, I hope you don't live near anyone who is dependent on these things. I foresee pitchforks and torches IF that were to ever happen. And folks who are more fortunate and don't rely on those programs? They'll be some of the folks who are pitchforked

OK phase them out incrementally and let people invest their own money in more effective ways than the government is doing it.

I promise you people will prgnizs effective localized support systems to help those in need if given the autonomy to do so.

These things need the breaks put on them.

No more do gooder politicians like Sanders no more government run bloated programs that cost us more than their worth.

I will gladly take my money and contribute to helping people in anyway that I can but I want the personal autonomy to make the choice of where to put my money.

The internet has made this possible and by expanding these programs we will increase corporate power and limit social and upward mobility.

Millenials do not yet understand this as they do not have any experience in the market and are jaded to a poorly managed economy.

Please think.

Wow! You have certainly done a 180 degree flip. I agree 100% about Social Programs destroying our economy,....

HOWEVER, we can't just IMMEDIATELY END social programs. Our economy is too addicted to Socialism, so we need to be tapered off over the course of at least one generation.

I promise you it will not happen.
