Thank you onehuman, and congratulations on yours too!

It's raining here. Dull, dark and cold.
I love your pics, by the way...always enjoy seeing them.

What's everyone up to this weekend?
Anyone doing anything fun...or epic?

jacy xoxo

Good morning Jacy, Tipping my hat to Cody, sir, nice to see you this fine morning, for me anyway.

I guess we get the silver border when we hit the 101 mark of the Karma perhaps? That dang thing has always confused me!
Congrats to you though Jacy! I did a little happy dance the other day when I noticed mine. That's why I got myself a makeover! Thanks to Cody for his magical invisible gif!

Today has such a spring in the air feel too it. All the animals around here seem to be sensing it as well. Maybe Ill get some good photos of some other new things!

Congrats on the silver

101 on the wats, I had (if memory serves) 77 when the requirement was 78, then they moved the goalposts, I was cussing for days LOL

Beautiful bird. Here, Czechs call them "lesni doktor" -- the forest doctor -- because they eat the bugs that bore into the trees and thus help to save the trees from dying. The "real" name (in Czech) is "Datel", but that's just a general name for woodpeckers. I'd have to dig a bit to find the English name, but as yours is a red-headed variety, it shouldn't be hard to narrow it down. Perhaps search "Florida woodpeckers" and see what you get? (You're in FL, right?)

I've given up hopes on ever getting one of those pretty borders. I just don't post enough new threads to get the flags, so the more posts I make, the harder it gets.

But I don't mind. Not really. No... Not really.

To be honest, I wanted to get my Karma down to the minimum. Like maybe 1. Because I have enough Karma to deal with in real life already. The less Karma the better, IMO.

And I have committed a faux pas by not saying hi to everyone. Sorry about that.

Ummm.. Hi, everyone.

Morning Everyone! It's a beauty!

Pileated Woodpecker!

More info:

The Pileated Woodpecker’s primary food is carpenter ants, supplemented by other ants, woodboring beetle larvae, termites, and other insects such as flies, spruce budworm, caterpillars, cockroaches, and grasshoppers. They also eat wild fruits and nuts, including greenbrier, hackberry, sassafrass, blackberries, sumac berries, poison ivy, holly, dogwood, persimmon, and elderberry.

Thanks Mike and good morning. I feel like deedeedeeee for not just searching! It appears to be a Pileated Woodpecker!

Yes, I am in Florida, just north of the big lake you see in the middle of the map. Okeechobee. Largest fresh water lake in the states actually!

Yes! That's the one! The line of red from the beak and running back on the lower sides of the head, combined with the red crescent and grey body with white markings: piliated woodpecker. I believe only the males have that extra red stripe.
Here's a couple of babies. One with the stripe, the sibling without:

No wins.

Close games, the teams were well matched for a change. Lots and lots of fun!

The best part?

Driving home I looked over at JD (my youngest) and said "I'm kind of glad no one else rode along today I'm happy to have you to myself".
To which she replied with her beautiful smile "I'm glad to have you to myself too".

Ahhhh...memories being built!
