I looked on line and could not find much beyond the former Super PAC organizer, Stephanie Cegelskie, who had a high profile defection.

Her story:

Here is one from an ordinary person:

Local Ex-Trump Supporter: 'A Few Months of Temporary Insanity'

Ms. Wright says she was a strong Trump supporter before seeing him, but that she has made a 180 degree turn away from him. Here are her unedited words (take them to heart, all ye who visit here):

Both defectors seem to be basing their decisions on Trump's perceived personal qualities and mental instability, rather than on policy issues.

Yeah I remember the SuperPAC lady. She made some claims about being close to the campaign but has no details. The Trump campaign say she has not been involved at all. I don't think this woman even has a single email to point to.

I am sure there must be some but the strength of his support is pretty extraordinary.

This is what snopes.com had to say, by way of checking her story:

www.snopes.com...

CLAIM: Stephanie Cegielski, Donald Trump's top strategist, wrote an open letter to the Republican candidate's supporters.

MIXTURE

WHAT'S TRUE: Stephanie Cegielski was a strategist for the Make America Great Again super PAC.

WHAT'S FALSE: Cegielski was Donald Trump's communications manager and top strategist.

So, at the least, she was an active Trump supporter who ceased to support him and gives her reasons.

This entire post sums my thoughts up beautifully, and is an accurate summary of Trump and his supporters.

Trump can do whatever he wants as a candidate. Everyone else does, why not him?

My point is simply that Trump, the billionaire casino owner and developer is not an outsider in any really meaningful way. His supporters, who are voting for "Trump the outsider", are deluding themselves in my opinion.

This is something that boggles my mind. "Trump the Outsider". Outsider to what? Rational thinking? Yeah, Trump is not part of the official elected and appointed political establishment. He is, however, still about as establishment as it gets. He is like, the establishment personified, basically. Representing everything wrong with this country wrapped up in one badly coifed package.

Americans should definitely vote with their hearts and minds. The more this sort of thing happens, the greater the dissipation of false impressions that people around the world have about the United States and its people.

Trump's rallies leave one in no doubt that there is a considerable constituency in the United States who support authoritarian rule. Americans are not forming Marxist cells in the wake of the disintegration of democracy in the country. They are moving sharply right toward demagogic, nationalistic fascism in the body of Donald Trump.

There have actually been polls/studies showing that Trump supporters are overwhelmingly authoritarian in nature.

However, you are not entirely correct that this is the direction of the U.S. This is the direction of the RIGHT WING of our political establishment, to become more and more extreme with each election. However, the right wing will also die continuing this course, because they continue to alienate more and more groups of people who are also growing in numbers. Their base is shrinking, especially amongst the younger generations.

I hope you are right, and that Americans do reject the candidacy of Donald Trump.

I would be less concerned by a right turn in American domestic politics if it were being led by a more mature and stable individual, although I think a more mature and stable individual would not find the need to harden attitudes. I think such a person would skilfully navigate through America's "issues" with patience.

I think Donald Trump is immature and impulsive and spiteful, not to mention gaudy and vulgar. Mayor of Las Vegas, maybe. President of the United States of America? Never.

Ah yes, a polished speaker and lots of patience. Just what is needed

A friend of mine called Trump the "Kardashians of Politics", and I think that is a very apt description of the whole Trump circus. Trump is little more than a loud, ignorant, low-life freak show who is famous because....he is good at marketing his brand. That's all he is. A brand. A tawdry, overpriced, ignorant, childish, cheaply constructed, shallow, self absorbed, egotistical brand. And you know Americans and our love affair with f**king brands.

However, due to America being as geographically and culturally divided as it is, brand-love is not universal, and not all brands are universally loved in so many markets. The Trump brand appeals only to a limited market, that being the "angry white male between ages 30-60" market, and has few brand supporters beyond this. Angry white males are a significant chunk of the population, however, in isolation they are outnumbered significantly by the angry white females, angry black men and women, angry Hispanics, angry millennials, angry gays, and anyone with an education level higher than 8th grade. All of which are "markets" where the "The Donald" brand has utterly alienated and declared some form of war on.

Any of the few Republicans remaining who still understand reality extends beyond the GOP know Trump is going to kill the party chances in the general election. It's why they are freaking out. Because unlike Trumps vocal legions of fanboys, they realize there is a whole different America beyond them that is at odds with Trumps......plan. (I haven't heard Trump state anything resembling a coherent plan on anything.)

The most disturbing thing about Trump is what it reflects on the country as a whole. That brainless, tasteless, amoral piece of trash could even be seriously considered to become the prime decision maker behind the most economically, culturally, and militarily powerful nation in the world.

Trump. It's Idiocracy come to life. Even then, I'd sooner vote for Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho over Trump anyday. I mean, if this country is going to go full retard, we may as well go for broke.
