Stars are not mentioned before the earth the heavens are. That's like saying cats and trees are the same. Also later in that chapter it clearly states when the Stars are made it also states the different lights to divide night and day which are the Sun and Moon were created after plants were. Either you are reading a different book or your just making up your own version of it.

Come on OP. Stick to your guns and refute the many examples in genesis which I have shown to be against current scientific knowledge.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the Earth... heavens not heaven...

The heavens are defined as The Sun Moon the Stars the Planets...

You guys must realize by now he'll never change his mind and will make whatever excuse required to keep believing, right???

No amount of logic, no matter how sound and irrefutable it may be will change that. Because logic isn't what got him in the position he's in although he spends a lot of time trying to make some reasonable argument for it.

But it's not reasonable. It is however very cleverly arranged and engineered so that once it gets a hold of someone's mind it's very difficult for it to escape. It has it's own security features so to speak. Like discouraging Reason and Logic and what is Real for what is Out Side Reality. It discourages Questioning the belief itself or even suggesting punishment for it.

He's the only one who can get himself out of it because it's been him who's got himself there and kept himself safe in that belief for a long time now.

I know this won't stop any of you. Hell, it doesn't stop me either usually. But there is a point when I think Time is truly wasted. Just saying...

I think you would be more concerned with the heavens being the first thing mentioned...
Perhaps on the 4th day God admired the Sun the Moon and Stars and made them do what he wanted...
So they could be used in calculation...
And to make sure the orbits ensured light for the morning and evening...

Thanks. I agree. I was becoming so frustrated with him avoiding everything and focusing on that one silky verse " the earth hangs on nothing"

I was there once. I was a devout born again Christian for seven years and I'm so glad I got out. It was seriously not a healthy thing at all.

People (on both sides of the debate) need to get over the "proving" or "disproving" their religions veracity game. Religion is an act of faith, faith requires no proof, just belief. Similarly the sciences need no faith, just evidence.
