woah. I knew it. That harbinger quake foretold it out on the east pacific rise a couple days ago.

earthquake.usgs.gov...

All too often it happens that when you see a quake happen out there, bam, one hits on the other side of the plate.

This actually is kind of scary. I think this activity in the last few days is the foreshocks, I'm saying it, I think there will be a massive one n the next couple weeks somewhere on the ring of fire.

Except that California won't slide into the ocean. It's "sliding" up to Washington.

That would be a good thing though.

You have typed something that could be construed as "crass" Why would You want something like that to happen? Just for anybody else who is also entertaining similar thoughts.

en.wikipedia.org...

If TheRepublic did fall into the ocean, the world's economy would go into an even larger toilet. How would this benefit You?

I see You didn't list what You call Your home, why not add that somewhere so somebody could wish ill on Your ecological niche, or is it only funny when it is someone else's misery/woe?

Have a better day!

It appears we may be entering, or in, a period of increased seimicity in the Ring of Fire. Cleveland volcano in Alaska just exploded this morning.

And... uh oh.. now Long valley supervolcano is coming alive, ahh... I be back in a minute here...

T'was sheer sarcasm my friend. On a serious note when it is going down Hollywood shouldn't get the evacuate message.

We had a small one in northern Nebraska a few days back....

Things are definitely rumbling down there. I know these two aren't related, but I agree with SaturnFX, I would make emergency plans if you're near a fault line.

I want to review the activity of the sun the last 72+ hours. Tho I am sure many are studying that right now. The sun is in a less active period now...were the days preceding this an outlier of lack of activity?

Time will feel if the 7.4 is THE quake or a foreshock. It was discussed that Japan's Thursday' 6.1 was (possibly) a precursor to a larger quake, and it was.

Here ya go:
www.swpc.noaa.gov...

But the notion that solar activity has any influence on large earthquakes doesn't really cut it.

Great, I got a golf tournament tomorrow on a course built near where the Calaveras and Hayward Faults meet.

Better work on my balance.

Seriously though, Im getting more concerned with more big quakes and there frequency.
