It seems a lot of people are unsure as to what to think about David Icke and given that he has an upcoming AMA I thought I would give a vid to give those that may be unaware an insight as to what he is all about.

This is not about if he is right or wrong but simply to let people know what you might want to ask.

Those that are uninterested and want to give it the old. " I got five minutes in and...." Don't bother.

If you watch it you can make an informed decision, if not then you are not denying ignorance you are encouraging it.

Happy viewing

I chose this one firstly because I did not want to have the post removed for using one of his more recent DVD's and violating copyright and also because although he was a little out it bears a striking similarity to the situation we are still in today.

I hope this may make at least one member rethink their views about his work.

Wait what? Icke is doing an AMA here? How do I not know this if that's the case?

Ok, I checked the front page and found the thread but how come this hasn't been advertised via the banner like any other AMA?

www.abovetopsecret.com...

Funny enough, I knew he would make his way here to do an AMA. Next up is Jones.

Maybe...

Are you a fan or a detractor of Icke then?

Icke has been on here before, many moons ago.

I remember asking him if his then wife supported his views on lizard people, apparently she did.

If you use the way back machine you can still find it.

If I remember correctly his wife stood by him and was/maybe still is part of his publishing company.

It takes a strong person to stand by someone that goes so much against the grain.

Let me know if you watch the whole thing and if so what you think.

I would be interested in your opinion at around an hour in.

Like I said before, in some thread about David Icke in the conspiracy-theorists forum, where someone tried to refute his teachings, I highly respect his political stance. And also how he connects the dots, that point to the so called spiritual realm, but I have still a great BUT left, regarding his (spiritual) teachings. It's difficult to put a finger on it. Anyway, I'll try.

From my point of view, as someone who encountered some sort of stangeness, but not so called high strangeness, by using substances, I have to agree on his point that what he calls awareness is above consciousness, somehow. If we are into making some sort of destinctions on what (or who) is ABOVE what and why.

And no, I haven'd watched this video fully, but I did watch a lot of his presentations. New and old ones.

Let me point out something I consider as important. Mahatma Gandhi was a very interesting figure in indian history, who tried to get the britsh occupants out of India. And he was, indeed, some sort of a communist/socialist secularistic fella, whoms intentions were good. Now, what I want to point out, is: He denied his culture as being superstitious. How do I know? Well I read the biographie of his wife. I forget the author of that book, but I can come up with it, if neccessary. My point is: Mahatma Gandhi was a men, who build an ashram and wanted his wife to donate her jewelry to the ashram for the sake of the community. What's the problem? Here it is: His wife was from a down-to-earth indian family and her jewelry was what she got as a legacy from her anchesters. In indian tradition that means a lot. She, Gandhis wife, was not highly educated, like her husband was. And he dis-respected her for that somehow. She was far from being an intellectual. She was a devotee. Of her culture.

What's my point?

Gandhi was an iconoclast. And his wife was a traditionalist. He, as the men in the family, demanded that she had to submit to his ideas. Which she did, to some degree. But also refused, by the little intellectual means she had, for the sake of not throwing out the baby with the bath-water.

Each and every human being is a special case and deserves to be treated as such. There is no rule of thump on the soul-level. That's my point.

Thanks for reading.

Yea. I've watched that vid a few times before. I really like the guy and he definitely knows his stuff in some areas. Some of it I don't like as I think it's more metaphorical than real.

Looking forward to his AMA.

I used to think he was a crack pot until around twelve years ago. I started reading some of his thoughts, did a lot of research on what he had to say and yes, you can certainly start joining the dots.

Even the late great Terry Wogan regretted the way in which he treated David Icke, when he interviewed him in the early 1990's. He later stated that David Icke, is, like everyone in this world, entitled to hold whatever beliefs he wants to hold, and shouldn't be ridiculed for them.

This an excellent vid though most of us know this, some also need reminding...like me.

Think I will pass this around.

I haven't really read or heard much of Icke since he was into underground subjects.

Furthermore, without trying to derail the thead, I would like to point out this:

David Icke, besides refering to what he calls awareness, is not clear of how and in what hierarchie the so called spiritual realms are connected to each other, IMHO. Therefore I try to give my perspective on it:

1. Consciousness (as an expression of all earthly live-forms) can be exessed and experienced in many ways. For example: As fully conscious, as partly conscious, as sub-conscious or un-conscious.

2. Awareness is above so called consciousness, because it IS the full awareness of what consciousness can (or can't) experience.

3. Atman, the soul-level, is ABOVE the two. Consciousness and its knower, called awareness.

4. Atman is the knower of both. And that is where true real spirituality begins. The way is via consciousness...one becomes aware of the ATMAN.

5. The ATMAN, being above awareness, is below a realm that is utterly, completly unknowable here, which is called PARA-BRAHMAN in sanskrit. But it can be known as the un-knowable, which many (true, real) religious traditions point out.

David Icke, in my perspective, is not iniciated into knowing the un-known (parabrahman). That's why I call him just another story-teller, regarding his "spiritual" teachings. And that is why his concept of "reptilians" is flawed but is indeed pointing to some real phenomenon, that needs to be investigated and expored further. It's a pointer to something which seem to exist in the realm of consciousness, but is almost un-conscious, still.

I hope I expressed it in a way that is understandable for all, who are interested in that kind of thing.

Thanks for reading.
