Use apple pay or google pay.

Its fast and easy.

I'm speaking out of ignorance (because I never researched either of those two) but my instincts tell me that Apple and Google already have enough of my information AND as insecure as banks are relative to being hacked, I still hold them above either of those two companies.

I do have a iPhone but have never used Apple Pay. Can I use Apple Pay at the ATM?

You do have a great point. Using Apple Pay will tell Apple your spots. Then they will send you more ads. Google pay also! Great point eluryh22

Yes

You don't need your card at the ATM just tap your iphone

Story : You use finger prints as your passcode now my little cousin thought his girlfriend cheated when she was sleeping he grabbed her finger and unlocked her phone

Imagine being drunk somewhere or what ever someone getting in your phone and yeah ATM here I come but PayPass is the easiest you just steal a card can make unlimited transactions

I just got mine yesterday. Swipe and enter pin is much faster.

Now I have to insert the card.
Wait a few seconds for the card reader to recognize it.
Then wait for it to ask my pin. A few seconds to authorize pin.
Then it wants my zip code.
A few more seconds more to approve.
Then it must be kept in place till I sign the recipt.

Took 45 seconds to a minute all in all.

Here's the catch now. Read the paper the card came on. Because of this new security chip. The bank is no longer responsible for erroneous charges. The old way was the banks would write it off and correct.... replace your money automatically. They still will. But you are responsible now for watching the spending on your account.

Hence.... yes it is irritating and longer now. 😝

Doing great👍

The banks will make the correction. But its fully on you now to catch the mistake or fraud. And notify the bank. The banks use to do this automatically and the client couldn't tell it happend. My bank would stop my card and call me right away. Not so much the case anymore.

Good question. Lol, I wouldn't know. I don't have an iphone... or a cell phone for that matter.
I know I know, in this day and age😁. Just this tablet.

But I do have an iPod that looks similar to that..

That looks like my youngest's latest phone!

I suppose I am dumb to these things, still, because I don't see how the 'chip' and card reader help to prevent fraud.

And, to add, another first world prob...the new attachment that is on the machine is so close to the edge of the counter at my local grocery store that it seems like my card has to bend to go in it...almost as if it could break if I'm not extremely careful. Poor positioning, IMO.

I did experience some online fraudulent activity last year and was alerted by my bank. My new card came with a chip. The old man still has the old style card. I think his expires soon and I imagine he will receive the new 'chip' card. It's good too because his card is nearly broken in half and you can barely read the front. It is pitiful!

My kids can still use my card all over town, they have my permission of course but, they are never questioned or asked for ID nor have I ever received a phone call or anything with them. Perhaps they don't look suspicious?

You sound as literal as the old man.

One of his pet peeves is people who say 'hot water heater'...

"It's a water heater!" he says..."Why would you need to heat hot water?"

*I don't know, honey, I don't know" LOL

That's the computer!

That's why I only said ATM.
OK MAC Machine.. Money Access Center. I use them to get cash for things I don't want tracked😉

Also it's nice to have cash money for tipping at places that don't have the tip section on a recipt. Like SubWay.
