No reason to give her the benefit of doubt on anything. She's a despicable liar either way. Lying about rape -- one way or another -- is just beyond the pale. And she lied then about it or she's lying now. Just awful.

I would be careful about making such comments about women. People might misconstrue it as sexism and misogyny.

On which statement? The one in which she was raped or the one in which she recants?

I said I give her the benefit of the doubt, not which statement I believe to be true.

We can give her the benefit of the doubt and still be skeptical of Trump's approach to women based on his potential previous transgressions.

One does have to wonder why she suddenly 'wants to set the record straight' after all these years. It was a convenient story for her then and convenient to backpeddle now.

And, yes, none of it changes the fact that Donald is a crass pig when it comes to women.

All due respect, but I disagree.

I think Ivana is actually a real good woman that really loved Donald Trump and went through a lot of crap for that love.

She fell in love with the lifestyle and tried to be the ultimate wife to the man she viewed as a god. There is a lot of biographical info out there on Trump and Ivana. Interesting stuff to say the least.

Anyway, it almost reads like she has some sort of twisted Stockholm syndrome-type of mindset.

Let's also not forget that she is bound by court order to not talk publicly about the relationship or marriage. Unless, of course, it's positive.

I'm not Trump fan (reality show or for president) but this is dumb. Who cares? Don't we have anything better to talk about than this dope opera? Pathetic.

I can't get past it. Personally, I don't think she was lying then. My gut says that was the truth.

So, if she is lying now, I think that's low. Character is important in a candidate. If Donald did the things she claimed, she should fess up for OUR sakes...not solely for her own purposes because, at the time, she wanted the most lucrative divorce settlement.

But if she lied then, I think it's just as bad, to be honest.

Dope opera?

He's trying to be the leader of the free world. I personally don't want a racist, misogynist, lying POS in that role.

I'd need to know more about that agreement now that some details have been publicized. I admit, I am not privy to what it entails.

I would like to think that she is free to say that she did not lie then -- even if it's just that simple and short. Forget the "that's lawyer stuff." A lawyer is not independent from their client. They can only claim what their client has stated as a claim.

I'm impressed with your effort on trying to prove the facts to a Trump supporter. Let's face it, their in big time denial. Sometimes I think trumps hair has an hypnotic effect on these people.

I completely agree. That is what my gut tells me as well.

It's crazy what we do for love.

Everything Trump says is debatable. His record of not telling the truth is pretty well established.
I'm surprised you are defending him; His charismatic spell has ensnared you as well eh?

That's the good thing about Trump. Everything he says is debatable, because he says them. Everyone else gives us a prefabricated performance filled to the brim with sophistry and political-speak, evasion, and hosts of glittering generalities, employing speech writers and the like. He's not charismatic at all. Besides the usual demagoguery, there is no spell. He doesn't alter his accent to suit the area he is speaking in. He doesn't withhold his thoughts in favor of talking points. He is in the open. He is hiding nothing.

I am not a Trump supporter, but I am an avid Trump defender, and I will do so until he has actually done something wrong, as opposed to joining in the media-led kangaroo court in which everyone thinks they have him pegged. It's nonsense. And we should all be ashamed for letting this happen right in front of our eyes.

"They're" would be a more proper term in this instance. But then again, you appreciate when the media defames an innocent man, and I wouldn't put bad grammar past any of you.

Everyone says prefabricated stuff but Trump, eh? I scoff. He has handlers and advisors. His candidacy is a show -- a sideshow...but a show, none-the-less.

Clearly, you have fallen for the Trump-narrative. And you have the nerve to point your finger at others for falling for 'the narrative?' You've regurgitated Trump's narrative that hit the internet from day one of his astroturf campaign.

"She had blood coming from her eyes...or whatever." Nope. That wasn't planned. People say that phrase, all the time. Not daggers. Not flames. Not steam from her ears. Blood from her eyes or whatever.

Trump is a plant.

Job #1: Alienate women and minorities.

He can mark that off the list now.

Who are you voting for? Because the presumptive nominee for the Dems is a racist, lying misandrist.

Here's a tip: no one spends hundreds of millions of dollars to get elected to a job that pays 300k a year, unless they are bent.

Probably my Friend and ex boss Gov. Gary Johnson will be my choice if it's any of your business....

Here's a tip: American styled politics is the result of capitalism. We get the best government money can buy. See how Donald fits in there?

Bernie might have something afterall....Democratic Socialism doesn't scare me!

btw....why do you even care....you called it a "dope opera"

I don't let anyone do my thinking for me. I need to be convinced through argument and evidence, and you'll find I am reasonable.

As a joke, those sorts of comments are unacceptable. If he meant them? Good God, he shouldn't be allowed around people period, much less President of the country.

Then maybe he should stop defaming himself, they are only using his own language, videos, and quotes hes said in interviews.

Thats like saying a persons confession in court shouldn't be allowed to stand as evidence.

Ahh Personal attacks in order to try and discredit and/or downplay claims by posters. Typical Trump style, Typical Saul Alinsky I see you learn well

It doesn't scare me either. 25 years of outsourcing and chasing new jobs, only to see them sent overseas means I have very little left to lose. I sure as hell am not voting for anyone who supported NAFTA or CAFTA, ever.

Can you recite one thing Trump has said about minorities that is good? Probably not, but that's not because he hasn't said them, but because you're being fed a certain narrative, and simply repeating it without looking any further.

Do you ever question whether what the media says might not be true? And following that, do you ever go look for yourself?

So - you voting for Trump?
