I go on youtube or dailymotion and the little icon in the top right hand corner is greyed out.

Loads of great vids I want to download...nothing doing.

Just started happening, no reason, no explanation.

Just downloaded the converter, but still nothing.

Suddenly - out of nowhere - I've been blocked from downloading any videos.

I say any...it still seems to work on the Gresham College site.

So I'm good for downloading obscure boffin lectures, but anything else...zip.

Please tell me I'm not the only one experiencing this?

Try reinstalling the app , If it doesn't work other downloaders are available.

A lot of these sort of tube sites regularly change things to block downloaders as it hurts their advertising revenue so it may take a few days for the writes of the add-on to see whats been changed and fix it.

According to the author of the Add-on, he is working on a new version, but doesn't say when it will be ready. He does say you can try the "development version" here. Version 19 addresses changes made by youtube.

I had the same problem. I'm using the "Flashgot" addon now for Firefox. Works very well IMHO

They keep updating Firefox, twice this past week or so, so far. Add-on's will break and need to be updated. So, be patient and give the add-on devs some time to get their add-ons updated.

I see what you mean.

I've just downloaded a video and it's come out too large, with heads chopped off. Not happy as it's used up over 500mb of data.

Any idea what the problem is?
