It's the same in the rural roads in France. Either they catch the sunrise, sunset or the Winter lunchtime sun.
The one thing I like the most is that so many places have their own Stonehenge effect, where a couple of long buildings placed side by side, create a
narrow path that the Sun will only shine through on a particular date/time. There's a couple of hallway and door windows in my workplace that do this.
It's only on one particular day (start of Winter holiday) that a beam of light is seen.
