The Workers’ Party of North Korea has recently issued a document from Pyongyang to provincial bodies that condemns Beijing for taking part in UN sanctions against the North and openly rallies Party members toward nuclear conflict with China. Daily NK has obtained a copy of one of the mass-delivered documents published by the Central Party and circulated to provincial Party committees via Sino-North Korea relations expert Lee Young Hwa, a professor at Kansai University, earlier this week. The document appears to outline a new doctrine on policies toward China and is dated March 10, 2016. “The Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea has handed down a message openly lashing out against China and commanding its people to actively confront it with a ‘nuclear storm’,” Lee explained. The document was reportedly distributed and read aloud throughout North Korea by provincial Party secretaries overseeing provincial Party committee meetings. An approximate translation of the title of the document is, “All Party members and workers must join in soundly crushing China’s pressuring schemes with the force of a nuclear storm for its betrayal of socialism.” The document goes on to explain that China has “been an eager participant” in the sanctions because it is “worried that its status of dominance in Northeast Asia will be challenged,” adding that these actions call for active resistance against Beijing’s anti-North plot. Appearing to reflect on Sino-North Korea relations, the document states, “China had never once been sincere towards the North, especially when its revolutionary efforts ran into challenges and struggles”. It adds, “Just as our great suryong [great or supreme leaders] have taught us, we must not have even the smallest fantasies about China’s intentions.” “We must no longer go easy on the Chinese and instead deal with them equally in order to change their attitude of taking us lightly,” another part reads. The document then orders members to “unite more firmly around Marshal Kim Jong Un and fight to the very end for final victory in our juche revolutionary feat, even if graver hardships and difficulties blow this way.” This document indicates that the North has now declared China to be an ‘enemy state,’ placing it on the same ranks as South Korea, the U.S., and Japan, Professor Lee explained. “It has now positioned the U.S. as the ‘feared enemy’ and China as the ‘detested enemy’,” he said. The use of the term “nuclear storm” also indicates it is threatening Beijing with nuclear and missile provocations, Lee added. North Korea and China had maintained close ties since the signing of the 1961 Sino-North Korean Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation, and Mutual Assistance, but this new declaration in effect announces an end to that agreement, the professor asserted. “There is a high possibility that Sino-North Korea relations will not only deteriorate, but lead to tensions as well,” he surmised.

The following is an approximate translation of the policy resolution drawn up by the Central Party Committee and dictated to its citizens (dated March 10, 2016):

Under the superior leadership of our revered supreme commander Marshal Kim Jong Un, our motherland has now confidently entered the ranks of nuclear states completely equipped with a hydrogen bomb and various kinds of miniaturized nuclear bombs. Utterly shocked at this, China, has rushed to take part in United Nations sanctions, worried that its dominant status in Northeast Asia will be challenged. The current political climate calls for all Party members and workers to firmly stand up against China’s hostile schemes against the great Chosun (DPRK) through political, military, and economic actions in Northeast Asia. When looking back on our revolutionary history, not once has China been sincere towards us when our revolutionary efforts ran into challenges and struggles. Just as our great Suryong leaders have taught us, we must not have even the smallest fantasies about China. We must no longer go easy on the Chinese and instead deal with them on the same footing in order to change their attitude of taking us lightly. All Party members and workers, let us unite more firmly around Marshal Kim Jong Un and fight with all our might to the very end for final victory in our juche revolutionary feat, even if graver hardships and difficulties blow this way, with the deep loyalty and strong belief that so long as our dear Marshal is with us, we will always see victory!

So, has NK finally completely lost it, or are they just responding this way because of Obama's recent talks with China's Xi Jinping?

Link to article about those talks: www.dw.com... sidelines-of-nuclear-summit/a-19157114

I usually just brush off the threats that NK makes but it seems they have been getting more and more bold. To threaten China now, seems like it will shake things up in that part of the world.

I have yet hear Russia's response to this new threat so if you got any links let me know.

And now you know why China is building a wall on their border. It's an attempt to keep the crazies out of their country

And this is where China gets north korea

We should have taken it when the war was on. This was always an inevitability.

Good bye N. Korea.

South Korea will suffer thanks to this. Especially if Clinton is president. She will sell the whole country for a retirement fund.

VOX has a pretty good article regarding the whys of NK.

Here is part of it:

it's all a show for the North Korean people, meant to maintain the big lie that keeps the country running — a terrifying, never-ending, low-boil war with the evil Americans and other enemies.

It's business as usual for Kim. He really knows nothing else.

I'd wait to get confirmation from other outside news sources before putting any faith into this development, myself. But if it is true, I sincerely doubt China will take such lip sitting down.

I honestly believe China doesn't want a nuclear North Korea as it would seriously destabilize the region. The reason they've supported North Korea for so long is it keep it as a buffer state between them and the United States, but what good is a buffer that is on the brink of drawing a major war right onto China's back door step?

They've condemned North Korea's antics for the past few years - which in and of itself was unthinkable in decades previous - and now with being directly involved with the latest row of UN sanctions tells me that the 65-year love affair may starting to finally turn sour.

If this is confirmed.

And they never work either.

As for the OP, North Korea does this on a regular bases mostly whenever China signs a trade deal with the South. They declare they have been stabbed in the back and China will pay. China much like the US just ignores its.

"Don't wake the Dragon"

This is a SERIOUSLY bad move on NK's part.Don't they receive food aid from China?

The thread title is misleading. North Korea isn't threatening a 'nuclear storm' against China. The WPK has allegedly issued a notice saying that members should come together to defeat Chinese pressure with the 'force of a nuclear storm'.

Everything else said by this Professor Lee is just interpretation, and his translation itself doesn't mention any declaration of China being an enemy or a nuclear storm...

The document shows that North Korea isn't happy, but this thread and the article it is based on, have blown it out of proportion.

What's going to happen to all the North Korean restaurants along the Chinese border that bring in hard cash for the n korean govt. When I hear China will close them down, then and only then I know the story has some merit. Until then, I'm sure its all about selling more newspapers. LOL

This is either a massive April Fool's joke, or yet more proof that North Korea has gone so far round the bend that it's in danger of meeting itself coming the other way.

This, if true is fantastic news !
The yappy dog has just opened the gate and exposed itself to real world smacks on the snout.

Should fat boy decide it would be wise to attack Sth. Korea or Japan, China may now act against them-
in unison with US allies in quickly smothering any N. Korean aggression, as it knows its border with NK is a security blanket for the orb, and does not wish for any skirmish to get that close.

China with gloves off would quickly have him in line.

It has to happen at some stage, human rights violations are being ignored whilst we de-stabilise the ME.

Time to silence the yappy dog.

I see your point but since when is it fantastic news that a lot of lives could be killed?

True, a lot of lives may be taken.

Ask yourself how many would be saved ...

Any strikes against NK would be against miltary targets.
No one wants any more suffering for the poor starving brainwashed masses, they would be the focus of any intervention.

So yeah ... fantastic news - if true.

Not holding my breath though.
