Russia thinks it can attack some of NATOs smallest members that their will be a reaction from the US.

Since when Ukraine was a member of NATO? Ukraine historical belonged to Russia in terms of geographical area. I wonder what are you going to say when NATO starts attacking Russian forces near their borders? Russian aggression?

He lied about that, he lied about Georgia when he invaded them, and even lied about the reason to invade Chechnya, so Putin has brought his own problems on himself...the west didn't gorce hom into doing any of those things...he did them on his own.

Putin didnt lie about Georgia by your logic Georgia had the rights to massacre by shelling the people in ossetia? tell me American would you preferred if people in ossetia were massacred by Georgian forces?

The people in Chechnya that you and American government supports had being wanting a sharia law. The same islamist Chechens who were sending fighters to the Free Syrian Army at the start of the conflict in Syria in 2012.

If Russia wasn't ruled Putin Syria would had fallen like Libya by now. So save your nonsense. Your a minority with that kind of world view

tsurfer2000h dont forget Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili was exposed on how unstable he was.
Ironic how Western News Media outlets never talked how he was chewing his tie.

So then why Mikheil Saakashvili is running away from Georgia and is now in Ukraine? trying to cover up his loses?

I still do not understand the smear hatred for Putin by some members in here. Would you honestly prefer if Russia lays down and surrenders or gives up Syria and hands it to the Terrorists?

Maybe we should rename the planet earth to planet America or better yet Planet NATO.

Ukraine is a member of NATOs PfP and has a series of cooperation agreements just as it does with Sweden and Finland. And it does not have NATO troops stationed in it. And do you really thing 4,200 men are going to start attacking Russia? Why bother, the West can crush Russia without military action simply with sanctions. And keep in mind no NATO troops were in the East until Russia invaded Ukraine and started making threats to neighbors claiming that they may not have the right to exist.

The fact is Russia welcomed NATO expansion because it saw NATO as keeping the region peaceful. As NATO expanded Russia remained in NATOs PfP, remained in the NATO Russian Council and remained in G8 never complaining. NATO has for decades reduced its forces to a massive degree. And it was happy to keep doing so until Putin decided he wanted a return to the glory days.

And what about the Chinese? Are they aggressive because they are aiding Ukraine and helping restart its defense industry? How about Belarus, they are working on joint weapons systems with Ukraine as well. And Finland and Sweden long time neutral states, Russia's actions have driven them into NATO's fold. If NATO is the aggressor how did that happen? Frankly Russia has enough problems with its so call friends undermining it at every turn it really does not need to be looking for trouble elsewhere.

1.Ukraine has not joined NATO so nice lie.

The fact is Russia welcomed NATO expansion

Russia has never welcomed the NATO expansion for years and just last year Russia warned NATO.

Russia warns of retaliatory action as NATO defies Moscow and expands east

Russia warned of retaliatory measures Wednesday after NATO invited the tiny Balkan state of Montenegro to join the military alliance in its bloc’s first expansion since 2009. The move defies previous warnings from Moscow that enlargement of the U.S.-led alliance further into the region would be seen as a provocation.

You do realize that the Chinese are Russian allies right? or the fact Belarus is Pro Putin Pro Russian?

If NATO is the aggressor how did that happen?

Not sure what your taking in terms of history lessons but it already happened.

Good assessment, but we might have to agree to disagree on some things. The USA was involved with the coup that happened in Ukraine. Good bad or indifferent, the USA's fingerprints are there. Given the USA's history of forcing regime changes in countries throughout the Middle East and Central/South America, even worse how poorly that tends to turn out - I'm going to make one guess:

Russia's allies are tired of dealing with Russia, as they are just as much a bully as the USA is. However, right now the USA appears as "the grass is greener" scenario and will put LOTS of money into the pockets of the fascist Ukrainian leaders that pushed for the regime change. Once Ukrainians see that they've been sold out to the highest bidder there will be more turmoil.

The Chinese are in it for the money, just like USA. It's all about money and control. The military industrial complexes (MIC) of both countries (technically Chinese MIC piggy-backs off of the USA) are benefiting financially by making deals with the current favored despots.

In the end it's the average citizens of Ukraine that will lose. Just like in the USA, we're just too lazy to do anything about our despotic rulers.

Unfortunately its the opposite that is happening. America's already has enough problems and its own NATO ally Turkey is causing these troubles.

If i were America right now i wouldn't looking for trouble elsewhere. America already sir has caused enough damage in the middle east and that was not Russia's doing.

As for the NATO cooperation that just happend in 2015 after the protests in Kiev, NATO quickly used the opportunity. Which why NATO wanted crimea as a naval station.

As Russia has consistently stated with regards to military placement inside their own / allies borders - its no one elses concern.

The same applies here.
