Well if the employment figures have improved

There lies the problem. Unemployment number doesn't include those whom have "stopped looking" as they say. Doesn't include those that are doing the "disability hustle" thing or any of the other things that cloud the "real" unemployment number.

Actually IF you have a pending case for disability they will WAIVE this. also IF you are a single parent and in school. Its only applies to those who can work and choose to do nothing but sit at home. Also its to reduce the amount of fraud.

Funny, because I do not identify with this man at all, nor do I agree with him.

Well Washington Dc is full to the brim of these revolving door industry types on the inside and Lobbyists on the outside
That is the reality, not the constant theoretical world many would like to see.

Or do whatever it takes to get ahead, regardless of current events? Cry about your low pay after a long shift? Or spend every spare minute you have dumpster diving for valuables to sell, collecting pennies in parking lots and cleaning your neighbors home/yard/car just to get a little bit more ahead than you were the day before, to have an extra five dollars every day to save for an education or a business of your own or whatever? That's my point. Yes, things are unfair and it is awful and I hate it. But what can you do for yourself that will benefit you? In the end, that is what it comes down to. Some people realize this and do something, others don't. In America, we have so many opportunities to get ahead, hence so many people come here. They realize this. More Americans need to as well.

They should do all those things at and at the same time, do as I do, and demonize these people at war against us via Freedom of Speech so that it becomes more and more public, because this will put pressure on them when they are outed for their policies and practices. People need to keep "whining" via Freedom of Speech on what is happening.

Big Corporate Money love Freedom of Speech when it comes to spreading their propaganda but hate it when others turn it against them.

10 years ago, no one would have blinked an eye when corporations moved overseas, now there are people boycotting them and spreading their dislike via the social media

Sure, if you spell $Democracy$ with dollar signs

represent.us...

“The preferences of the average American appear to have only a miniscule, near-zero, statistically non-significant impact upon public policy.”
One thing that does have an influence? Money. While the opinions of the bottom 90% of income earners in America have a “statistically non-significant impact,” economic elites, business interests, and people who can afford lobbyists still carry major influence.

I entirely agree! I do not defend or condone what is happening in our society. Like you, I do what I can to show it. I don't buy from large corporations with whom I disagree. I produce as many of my own goods as possible so I can avoid supporting them. Truly, the state of our economics disturbs me. But I didn't feel the need to bring it up in this thread as I wasn't addressing that, only the attitude of helplessness that so many people have when there are indeed things they can do. That is all.. things may not be stellar but they aren't as bad as in the majority of the world, opportunities are still there and yes we should fight as you say but there is also some personal responsibility at play here. Some people make very poor decisions in life and don't even realize it, would rather blame everything else.

Walk through the parking lot of any walmart in Phoenix and people sell their SNAP benefits for 50 cents on the dollar. (Mostly Illegals) They will buy me $60 bucks worth of groceries on their SNAP card and ill hand them $30 cash. Its a great racket. The n they buy drugs or whatever they needed cash for. It doesn't bother me hell Im paying for their benefits anyway. Might as well get some back whenever I can.

I have heard this all the time, it's especially popular on these boards and I've never in my life seen it. I wish I did because I would happily take some people up on that offer to expand my grocery cart.

This is why the court systems need to be overhauled so that citizens can apply Judicial Review to these self-serving policies and weed them out.

I agree as well that there are some that make bad choices.
The trend we have been following though has more to do with policies than personal responsibility if ones looks at the historical downfall going from the 70's and onward.

I don't necessarily agree or disagree - I believe there is a LOT wrong with the system, don't get me wrong! But when you are struggling financially, what are you going to do about it? Complain about the system and how it wrongs you? Or do whatever it takes to get ahead, regardless of current events? Cry about your low pay after a long shift? Or spend every spare minute you have dumpster diving for valuables to sell, collecting pennies in parking lots and cleaning your neighbors home/yard/car just to get a little bit more ahead than you were the day before, to have an extra five dollars every day to save for an education or a business of your own or whatever? You keep saying " do whatever it takes"

That is the entire problem, and what is wrong with the entire system!!

Sociopaths " do whatever it takes " because they don't care about anyone but themselves!!

That is just flat out the stupidest thing to say about any subject period!!

"do whatever it takes" means screwing over every person you ever meet to advance yourself financially!

Most people can't, because that is #ing retarded and doesn't help humanity, it tears humanity down to benefit only you!

Try thinking about others at least once in your life you conscienceless sociopath!

Everyone else doesn't exist to benefit you!

You know that pain you feel when you are hungry?

Everyone else feels that also!

You know that pain when you get hurt?

Everyone else feels that also!!!

My god how self serving at the expense of everyone else can you get?

You do realise that all the other people you see aren't comp mods in Grand Theft auto right?

They are just as real as you are!!

And pain hurts them the exact same way!!!!!!!!!!

Looks like many Americans will be losing food stamp benefits real soon.

Apparently many states have been waiving work requirements for people aged 18-49.

A clause inside the 1996 Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Act is going to be "enforced" again.

I think budgets and government debts have been getting pressured.

Now what will happen?

This doesn't look good for politicians running for office this year does it.

all good things come to an end sometime.

April 1st is also known as April Fools Day. Many SNAP recipients may think this is a practical joke.

When I say do whatever it takes, hurting someone else is the last thing that comes to mind and I am sorry that my words caused that thought to cross your mind. Doing whatever it takes to me means something very different, because breaking the law or hurting/screwing over others is something I would never even consider.

I know a woman who has worked in a state licensed position making $3900 net every month, with 1 17 year old daughter and she gets Medical Snap, dental...etc.

She bought a brand new car with her $11k tax return last year.

I've seen plenty of law breaking, the town I live in has the highest crime rate in Ohio. You have a 1 in 12 chance of being the victim of a break in annually and there are carjackings in the street in broad daylight. Our main grocery store, not counting the Walmart even has a payday loan vendor built into the store (which should be a crime). Still, I've never seen people offering SNAP benefits in that way.

Start a local/state version of FS.

Everyone in the county/state can opt(it goes through your water bill or property tax) to pay a voluntary social services tax.

The funds from the optional tax pays for "local FS" and the infrastructure to run the programs.
