I hate Mayonnaise. Absolutely can't stand the stuff! However, now it seems I have a reason to buy some; it removes water stains from your wood furniture. You know, the ring(s) on your furniture left by cups, bowls, or anything with a liquid in it. Everyone has done it at some point in their life but the only way to fix it seemed to be to buy furniture polish or some other expensive remedy. Who'd-a-thunk that something as simple as Mayo would do the trick? See for yourselves....

I refinished an oak kitchen table once, with sesame oil. Turned out beautiful.

I would think the mayonnaise would only work on certain woods, certain finishes, because of its oilyness.

I'll have to keep it in mind if I come across something that would water stain. Test it out.

I have tried it in the past, didn't work so well, but like other poster said, could have been the wood or finish

If it's so bad, why are you still here? Write your own OPs if the ones you see don't suit you.

On Topic - WD40 works pretty well too.
