Nope. Where I come from we have a word for people like that. He is a total fud.

Plain and simple. Why does social media celebrate stupidity so much?

I for one hope he gets sacked and skin eons who deserves a job gets it.

There's been nearly 70,000 people let go in the oil industry in the uk...and that fud has kept his job..,unreal.

Why should he lose his job?

Why should we critize him?

THE POOR GUYS A GD HIJACKING VITICIM!

Just because the poor sob didnt handle fear in the way you would of why shoukd he be penalised?

Not every situation calls for violence. What if an act of aggression against the hi-jackers would have resulted in innocent people being killed? You weren't there. You don't have all the facts on the situation, and I don't care how long you've been a veteran, it does give you the right to judge anyone.

what a legend- that Britts for you. always look at the funny side and realistic with situations -

while Americans quake and fear every Muslim they see because of the media (not all americans obviously). We see through it and laugh in the face of danger. whats the point in worrying until it happens - and still this guy aint worried

love to buy him a pint

Americans do what? LOL you blighter!

Wow, I find myself conflicted on this and not sure why. On the one hand I can't see how the thought of grabbing a "selfish" ever comes to mind. On the other maybe he was trying to lighten the mood of the hijacker thinking to ease the tension and keep him semi rational.

Think we need another F word in between Fight or Flight. Maybe Friend???

A grinning British hostage who posed for a photograph with the EgyptAir hijacker has been described as the latest victim of “narcissistic” social media culture.

MSN

Sorry but WTF?

Why is this guy being criticised?
He is a VICTIM. The poor guy was in a hijacked plane!
How he deals with stress like that is his business!
Sure everyone would expect him to piss his pants and cry but if he wants to laugh at it? More power to him!

He is displaying the Blitz spirit. It laughing in the face of death and making a joke out of a horrific event that got Britain through WW2!

Plus making a joke out of a terrorist sucks power from the terrorists. A terrorist goal is to cause FEAR. Doing the opposite suck purpose out there action.

I laughed at his selfie but cringed at you calling it the Blitz spirit.

Yada Yada, pina colada.

He should lose his job as he is an hseq professional in a high risk industry whose Gung Ho approach could have gotten everyone killed.

If I was his boss I would sack him.

You won't change my opinion, and I have been gracious in responding to you.

I won't be responding on this again.
