Then shouldn't he say what he means?

Supposedly he's smart enough, or his handlers are, to say what he means/meant?

The 40's and 50's aren't exactly the shining times presented so often by folks.

Can't believe the mods had such a large part in such a #post thread that got derailed from page 1. Maybe they should be doing their job instead of adding fuel to the fire.

Simple...we are the biggest consumers in the world. Our consumerism will make or break a company. We make them an offer that they can't refuse...come back home or lose us as a customer.

Lol so the U.S government can just bully companies into submission like the mafia...? Umm what happened to free market capitalism?

Oh sorry its all the way under the boot of federal economic regulations.
How about less government intervention, yeah?

I wonder if the people calling me a "race-baiter" and accusing me of using race for some kind of "divisive" purpose are anything but white males themselves?

I'm honestly sort of amazed you posted that. Take a breather. I get that the gif has a mic drop, but I think you should be paying more attention to the text for a few minutes.

You don't even realize that you're being racist and sexist, which is a tad ironic.

Exactly. Everyone always remembers the best parts of the past. When we think back, we always remember the good times easier than the bad times.

Hell, I was a child of the 1980's. I love 80's stuff...was the 1980's the best time to be alive? It sure feels like it to me, but that's my OPINION, coming from memory of being a CHILD in the 1980's.

If you were a straight white male in the 1950's, you would remember it very favorably, just as I remember the 80's favorably from my childhood memories.

So, we aren't allowed to opine? Especially if we just happen to, oh, disagree with some herein?

I happen to disagree that the 40's and 50's were such a great time to be alive and in the U.S.. For some, certainly it was...but for a significant portion of the population, not so much.

Locked into internment camps during the war.

Denied equal access to facilities of all sorts.

You're smart enough to come up with additions to this list.

Yeah, you're right. I ain't looking for a racial struggle or class warfare behind every shrub. I'm looking for solutions so that my daughter will have a good future.

It's foolish to even suggest that Trump wants to reverse 65 years of civil rights, don't you think?

Trump wants to charge higher tariffs on goods made outside the US.

It would be in a companies best interest to start manufacturing inside the US again.

And that will do nothing but hurt the middle class and poor who will have to pay higher prices for things at places like Walmart and similar stores

Tariffs would just make it worse, you trump supporters really need to research the effect of the crap he's proposing instead of just parroting it back like a drone.

Smoot Holly. Look it up

Tariffs will just destroy the lower class even more. They are barely making enough as it is to pay for what they have.

Why do you honestly believe that Trump wants to reverse 65 years of civil liberties?

It's not so much trump people whom oppose him are concerned about...

Do you even know what the OP is talking about? Because that isn't it. 170+ comments and 11 flags should have been the indicator that this entire thread is a mess. But carry on.

Because he apparently believes civil liberties were ideal 65 years ago.

If she's pretty enough I'm sure Trump will help her out, he likes the pretty ones

The wonderful thing about the internet is that it hides our identities. No one really knows who is who or what race, sex, nationality, or religion or creed anyone is.

I just muse over who these people really are calling me "racist" and "sexist" and of using race to be "decisive".

As if sweeping racial issues under a rug has ever made them magically go away. As if the color of your skin, your gender, or who you love never mattered or impacted one's quality of life in this country.

Facts aren't always pleasant, and I won't apologize for bringing up things that make people squirm.

I'm sorry I conflict with others per-concienved ideas, and don't conform to their biases. Sorry, 'bout that.

Uh...what about the trade deals that our 'government ' made that basically screwed us all? It's really simple...terminate those deals, tarriff imports, heavily tax overseas labor, and watch those industries return

This thread isn't a mess. I'm sorry you feel that way, and I'm sorry it isn't going the direction you feel it should be going. I'm sorry that people like myself don't "fall in line" behind people like you, and agree that the 50's and 60's weren't as great as Mr. Trump claims they were.

I give up.

If you all honestly think that Trump wants to bring back slavery and kill kittens and inter Japanese citizens, then there is absolutely nothing I can say that would change your mind.

smh

ATS guidelines say stay on topic, whatever the # that is suppose to be. This thread should have been trash binned within the first 20 minutes.
