I dont see how since as far as economy and foreign policy they are in line with each other.

To each his own I guess.

I just dont see it as a popularity contest. Its about the issues, not the candidates.

because trump is rude condescending arrogant and a lot of other negative personality traits. sanders knows what manners are what decorum is and is way more level headed, and in a word...a statesman

That is opinion far from the issues.

We cant keep choosing leaders like it was a popularity contest.

ISSUES.....that is what makes a leader good or not.

They are both anti-establishment NYers.

They agree on the issues and differ in method. Sometimes not even in that.

If the issues are what really concerns you....

Trump doesnt like free trade /corporate welfare
Doesnt like war for profit....is for American jobs, for individual liberties, and so on

This being the same Sanders that boasts about his F Rating with the NRA on voting record?

You do realize if you were able to vote a Trump/Sanders ticket you will have voted for the perfect Libertarian ticket EVER? Sanders record with the NRA is not an "F" rating at all; he supports the 2nd amendment.

Ok never said it was not

But you are not going off facts. You are going off superficial popularuty and appeal.

That means I can say that is not an honest vote.

You dont care about the issues

Who is the most handsome you think?

So youre admitting that Trump is more of a progressive/socialist than all of his supporters actually think he is?

Its funny to watch people post stuff like this, and then claim they are conservative while still supporting Trump
This Post really does illustrate my point beautifully that Trump supporters just DONT CARE who or what he stands for.

Lowest common denominator indeed.

That being said, Sanders is much better than Trump, at least hes an honest person who treats people with respect.

the character of a person is indeed central to this discussion. that is the main reason i will not even consider trump. he is not presidential material no matter his point of view. i m telling you that his stances on everything is irrelevant. and he definitely thinks this song is about him.(song reference) as an example look to trumps reaction to the brussels bombings then look to sanders there is no comparing the two.

Becsuse its cool to see people before their minds

He should have been listened to. People could have been saved.

The laughs were short lived.

what a man/woman states as their stance on any issue must be considered along with the character of the person. i believe that trumps business record as evidence is enough to invalidate his consideration. so no i do not believe it is a popularity contest but claiming im a christian and love those two corinthians doesnt make me one. you have to see his hypocrisy

I am expanding this (apologies)Cruz resembles "Uncle Fester" Trump at times expression appears to look like a ... doll toy; Sanders is ones Grandpa you wish would stay seated in the corner and not disrupt the wedding. Ghost147 though not running has a memorable eloquence/stateliness.

Hey agree to disagree. I dont speak to opinion.
We all have one. Thats why leaders are chosen based off more than what we take into account for who we choose to have a beer with.

Have a good day

I'm not voting for Trump. There's very little you can say to sway my vote. I'm not writing in anyone either, they don't count those so I might as well write in Mickey Mouse.

It's either Bernie Sanders or Jill Stein.
It's not about establishment vs. anti-establishment for me. It's about the issues. Trump's positions don't align with mine.

I mean, if you really want to stretch this far to say Trump and Sanders are basically the same then you can say the same thing about Clinton.

Sanders is proud of his poor NRA rating.

I respect that. They are both libertarians and have similar stances on the issues I pointed out.

But I respect your integrity.

Good luck.

While I respect your opinion on the matter, I have to admit I am in total disagreement. This is an issue I have been discussing with my friends for some time now. Many people tell me, "He might be dead right but his delivery sucks." There is some truth to that but I am amazed that many people seem to be completely fine with politicians making bold faced lies... as long as it "sounds pretty." At the same time, people will disregard sound stances on issues because they don't care for the language/delivery. I wonder, at the end of the day, why the sizzle is more important than the steak to some people.

Example: It has been proved (thanks to that Gruber creep) that Obama's old "If you like your plan you can keep your plan. If you like your doctor you can keep your doctor" statements were complete and utter lies. Obama (and the Pelosis of the world) knew at the time it was a complete lie. But somehow it's okay because they delivered pretty speeches? (Yeah, Bush and Clinton and the rest of them lied but Obama is the most recent example).

BS dont give me that, You have been on forum before complaining about Progressives, now your back tracking.

Trump is NOT a libertarian, Ron Paul, and Rand are Libertarians

Trump is not even close.

He did say it was a threat months ago and people laughed.

No he didnt, what he said was this, in reference to their neighborhoods.

There is something going on, Maria. Go to Brussels. Go to Paris. Go to different places. There is something going on and it's not good, where they want Shariah law, where they want this, where they want things that" just aren't good.

He should have been listened to. People could have been saved.

How , he didnt predict anything.

How thick does Trump make this Koolaid?

Of course, much of the media was singing a different tune only two months ago when The Donald had the audacity to point out some of the problems in Brussels, saying Trump had found “a new city to insult.”

lib·er·tar·i·an
ˌlibərˈterēən/
noun
1.
an adherent of libertarianism.
"libertarian philosophy"
2.
PHILOSOPHY
a person who believes in the doctrine of free will

Trump is all about Free will, and individual liberties FOR OUR PEOPLE. Not others outside our borders. That would be unconstitutional if he was.

Rand Paul says he is not, so that means he is not?

Trump is a for a STRICT interpretation of the Constitution. FOR states rights....an anti-federalist....and so on.

January 2016 – Donald Trump Warned Brussels, Belgium – The New York Times Mocked Him For It…

Warming to his theme, he added that Brussels was in a particularly dire state. “You go to Brussels — I was in Brussels a long time ago, 20 years ago, so beautiful, everything is so beautiful — it’s like living in a hellhole right now,” Mr. Trump continued.
