It was an assumption. If you have to trick your members into paying for something that is otherwise free, there is usually a reason to be that big of a douche. Lack of money seemed like the obvious choice. It appears that the owner is just a tiny douche and money isn't his motivator. So I learned something.

I know it was an assumption, but once again you have something in the title of a thread which may not be true.
If the owner of that site is saying for all people not to send him money because he doesn't need it, then your assumption must be wrong.
The easiest way to sort that out would be from a screen grab, not a paste job, you were a member there for long enough.

I have no idea how that site lasted as long as it did.

I mean really. It is complete crap. Tried it once and was on for like an hour. It is just worthless. I threw as many F bombs as I could to get them out of my system and erased the site from my search history.

I think I discovered ATS and that one around the same time. It was interesting - a lot of way far-out stuff, fun reads, but kind of funneled into the same stuff, with very little in the way of intelligent content. And Thank God(s) ATS doesn't allow random Anonymous posting as some do.

Actually ATS used to have Anonymous Posting but that got taken out.

As for the website you speak off well last time I went there, it did have a few interesting content but sadly the trolls rule the website.

A few years back I found an intriguing thread at GLP it's about 170+ pages long. I must've been really bored that day, maybe drunk or stoned or all of the above. It's a thread about a group of remote viewers in an ask us anything format.

I know this will sound blasphemous, but it's like reading a thread on ATS. Majority of the questions are interesting, of course there were a few trolls and what have yous. The RVers answers were short, to the point and sometimes with very intriguing twists to predictable answers. I even went back here to ATS to search the forums if someone already linked the GLP thread and started a discussion.

All I'm saying is it's not all garbage.

What a biased thread, which is evidence that most here know if they said any truth, their comment would be deleted for being off topic. Without going so far as to get banned, I will try to comment here (fingers crossed mods don't pull the trigger) that I think that this site is actually worse than the one you are complaining about in many other ways, such as the lack of discussion about general news stories. (You cannot get the news from ATS; ATS only has "core" conspiracy theories.) The search feature also totally sucks here; it is just button to google, letting them store all your searches. And the messaging system here is a joke. Also you can't use the site at all unless you expose your computer to ad-ware-based malware, which is the main thing the creator of the allegedly worse site was involved in and hated for. At least at the other site you get to pay to get an avatar. Less funky business, more transparency about the scams comprising these types of citizen communities.

For sure to even FLASH such a hypocrisy in terms of user banning and such is a joke all unto it's self they must be PROUD OF THEMSELF'S, my guess is your right about them having money problems, only reason they would ROUGH DRAFT this site and with the banning regulations.
