Nope, it depends on the topic.
Usually, in my opinion its the right-wing which is the loudest.

See?

Bias. I have one. You have one. We all are biased. Deal with it..

I am fairly new here. I get the sense that this site leans towards the liberal? Or are they just the loudest?

Those on the Right will say yes. Those on the Left will say no. Gonna have to make up your own mind on that one I'm afraid.

Also, depending on what time of day you're here it swings back and forth from having more Conservative members or more Liberal members. I actually think it's pretty well balanced though. At least when it comes to actual members and not including the trolls that come by now and then.

What makes you think it leans liberal?? Just this one post???

To Americans:

Liberals = socialist commie pinkos

To the rest of the world:

Liberals = free thinking equal opportunists

Hence the neverending cat fights and pissing matches on ATS...

*yawn*

It's all about perception but if you wanna know how this site leans than pay attention to the Flagged section daily. Usually it's dominated by political threads that lean all the way to the right. Obviously this site is a melting pot with plenty of liberals but dare I say, way more very loud conservatives.

Denying ignorance gets thrown out the window when it comes to politics on ATS>

Wether or not you call them socialist or being run by socialists (it's splitting hairs) its just the same. just one example is mexican government control of their oil,the fact that socialist parties exist and execute governmental duties. this is not a troll thread and I'm sorry you feel that way. Do we really wish to make America more like these countries? It appears that way, and would socialistic policies really work in a country our size and within the frame work that was set out by our Founding fathers? I think I posed a fair question.

Hold on now. Not all Americans think like that.

You just think like that because you're Canadian and we all know Canadians are Communist Mountain Hippies. (That was a joke btw.)

Not just this post. I apologize, I am asking for easy answers and I should do due diligence to find out for myself. Sometimes I find it helpful to ask the question because the answers are very enlightening. I just don't want to swim against the current.

Are you really pimping out your own daughter on ATS???

No not pimping. That would be immoral and against my puritan values.
I only wish the dating pool for a fine young lady with a university degree might include men like Techs.

Thanks for this post (and the 2nd w/the map included). It amazes me how quickly people jump to conclusions without doing even basic fact checking. I was about to type a response of my own to the OP until I saw this post and a second post which I'll also quote.

Thanks for this post, as well. As much as the right wing talks about immigration, you'd think they knew this stuff. President Obama's administrations have deported far more illegal immigrants than Bush's did. In fact, the stats are crazy. Something like "more people being deported in Obama's first term than in both of Bush's terms combined". And ever since the "Great Recession", we've experienced a huge outflow of immigrants, particularly with low wage earners. It's like people here forgot the near crises in many Southern States with crops dying in the fields because there suddenly weren't enough workers.

If Romney would've won in 2012, we would've heard nonstop about these "immigration reduction successes". But since it's Obama, and they hate everything about him, we hear almost nothing about them. (note: I'm actually pro-immigration, love to travel, and love meeting people from different cultures. So I don't necessarily see this as a good thing. But that's beside the point.)

Only our mooses are communist mountain hippies.

The rest of us are heathenistic freedom-stealing politically correct welfare recipients... that play hockey and swig maple syrup on Sundays.

I really don't think you have an accurate picture of Mexico, Central and South America the last 60 or so years.

I see. Well, I'm not a father myself, but something tells me your daughter would probably rather find her own fella. But who knows. Tech does have one dandy of a hairline that is for sure! Decent job too if I remember correctly.

Look up the nations in the world with the highest quality of life.

Lowest crime/incarceration.

Least pollution.

Most millionaires.

Universal healthcare...

Look at Switzerland - And tell me, as we are the country with the most money in the world - Why does the right refuse to emulate them?

Why is the right so stuck in the Golden years of decades ago that they cannot let us move forward, and emulate the countries that report the most happiness, the least crime, etc..?

The top countries south of the border for illegal immigration are:

Mexico (like 60%)
Guatemala
El Salvador
Honduras

None of these countries are particularly socialist except for Mexico's completely state owned petroleum industry (Pemex I think it's called?).

Well the question was not only posed towards socialistic society's the question really is asking- do we want to make our societies more like the failed society's large groups of people come from? And it's a fair question, and though I do not agree with trumps bellicose rhetoric. I do however understand we need to protect our borders and our sovereignty.

The problem with even that question is that no one is suggesting that we model ourselves after Mexico etc...

Well then you absolutely believe in protecting our borders at any cost, as to not invade us with a voting block that helped create those failed states?
