This is going to be short and sweet and I figured I would pose this question in the mud pit.

First let me just state, we know that the exodus points towards the west, and in this case the United States - coming from primarily failed socialistic society's from south of the border , in other words we see large groups of people immigrating to the United States and not away.

So my question is, why is it that liberals want to make America more like the countries illegal immigrants flee from?

You were just telling me the other day in some other thread how you consider yourself Liberal on a lot of things. Or that your liberal leaning a lot of the time. I don't remember exactly word for word what it was.

So why aren't you considered part of the group your asking this question to???

Which btw is also a totally loaded question to start with and hardly worth anyone's time in answering because you've clearly got your bias set already.

Also, what Exodus are you talking about???

You do realize that a number of very stable, very peaceful, very high-quality of life countries are liberal too, right?

Don't you think that perhaps there's a bit more to it than just being liberal or not?

On some social policy's I absolutely am left leaning regarding healthcare and especially concerning our homeless (veterans) though I am without a doubt nationalistic, and believe in intervention in some cases, I support our country and its values and believe that it should not mirror Europe but instead stay true to the framework set by our founders. I'm sorry you feel it's a loaded question, the exodus I am referring to is the thousands of illegal immigrants who enter from our southern border, surely you are aware of this and I do not have to explain further?

Well, this entire thread's premise is bogus, since no country in South America (maybe Venezuela?) is considered "socialist".

Here's a MAP OF SOCIALIST STATES

I see 1 in South America.

Whoop whoop!

Obvious troll is obvious.

Easy. It's the most "politically correct" way to get them to stop coming here. If our country sucks as much as theirs, then they'll stay away, but we won't have to tell them to stay there.

I could also ask you to consider ... why is it that the same liberals want to invite in all the latinos, but if Trump is elected, they'll all move to Canada? Surely some would move to Mexico, Ecuador, El Savador, Cuba, or any of those other countries that produce all those wonderful people!

I'm pretty sure Europe has been "exodusing" to the United States since Columbus, if not before.

OK, here's the map for those interested:

Yeah, I see ONE South American country. . . Premise for the the thread is off-base. I don't see Americans complaining about being inundated with Russian illegal immigrants.

People want to live better lives, hence why the europeans immigrated to the country they named the US in the first place....

Surely you're aware of this?

The pic in your avatar looks like a pale skinned european no?

Yep, and the current plight of the Native Americans shows what happens when you do not have and enforce a coherent immigration policy. But hey! When we all become inmates in our own country swamped by latinos who really aren't any more native than we are anymore ... we can all sit around getting drunk and saying "I told you so."

Good ol' false premises. They never cease to amuse.

It's a shame, I usually enjoy the OP's content.

What makes you think it was Socialism that did it? Have you ever looked into US economic policy with our Southern neighbors? We tended to encourage coup's regarding 'Socialist' leaders, yep even from Democratic leadership. Look up Coca-Cola in Colombia sometime.

I say it's a loaded question because you start with a assumption as your premise. That liberals want America to become a 3rd world country. I don't know of anyone, liberal or not that is saying they want America to be like some 3rd world country. Even if the things they do or say might push America toward that goal, I don't think they are doing it with that goal in mind. Liberals who are wanting Socialism don't want it because they think it will make things worse, they think it will make things better. Regardless of how it actually might work out, it's not like they are working toward 3rd world status as their goal.

Yes, I'm very familiar with the Illegal immigration that's happening. I live in one of the states effected by it most.

Well, just to point out the obvious, you're wrong about more immigrants entering the US than leaving.

More Mexicans Leaving Than Coming to the U.S.

More Mexican immigrants have returned to Mexico from the U.S. than have migrated here since the end of the Great Recession, according to a new Pew Research Center analysis of newly available government data from both countries. The same data sources also show the overall flow of Mexican immigrants between the two countries is at its smallest since the 1990s, mostly due to a drop in the number of Mexican immigrants coming to the U.S. From 2009 to 2014, 1 million Mexicans and their families (including U.S.-born children) left the U.S. for Mexico, according to data from the 2014 Mexican National Survey of Demographic Dynamics (ENADID). U.S. census data for the same period show an estimated 870,000 Mexican nationals left Mexico to come to the U.S., a smaller number than the flow of families from the U.S. to Mexico.

I think a better thread topic would be to look at what countries are actually socialist, and look at the immigration levels of those people in the USA.

I am fairly new here. I get the sense that this site leans towards the liberal? Or are they just the loudest?
