Good example here of just how maniacal some Democrats can get.

This one is about somebody named Brian Sims, a current member of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.

He apparently is running for re-election (primary?) against no Republicans and has 3 Democrat opponents.

Yet he makes a statement "Right-wing extremists are trying to take this seat"

He must be a real nit picky micro managing jealous type to say something this crazy.

Even Left Wing Politi"fact" has his pants on fire for this comment !!!

Brian Sims: "Right-wing extremists are trying to take this seat"

Brian Sims has held Philadelphia’s 182nd District House seat since 2012, earning a reputation as a progressive in an area featuring a wide area of Center City. This year in the primary he will face Democratic candidates Louis Lanni, Marni Snyder and Ben Waxman.

On Saturday, Sims’ camp sent a fundraising email to his supporters addressed from him in which he said, "I never expected to have this big of a target on my back. The right-wing extremists are trying to take this seat so they can push their anti-choice and anti-equality agenda through our State House."

Though Sims has competition from Democrats in the primary, he does not have any from Republicans. No Republicans are on the ballot, according to the City Commissioners Office. And because no candidates are running as Republicans in the primary, no candidates can run as Republicans in the general election.

As a Pennsylvanian, I really wish that we could cut Philadelphia and Pittsburgh loose from the rest of the state.
They can be downright embarrassing most of the time.

And this budget problem right now. Our governor doesn't want to work with the legislature and they don't want to work with him.
We do have problems.

I lived in Reading when Wally Scott was found guilty of helping Tom Loeper get his car towed to a junkyard without reporting it to the police after Loeper did hit and run at the Riveredge Restaurant while he was drunk!
Yeah, the now mayor Scott is no good.

I love this. When this site is used to prove the right lies, it is funded by left wing liars..etc but when it helps them, it is a perfectly legit site.

Anyone who holds to the simplistic notion that all Democrats are liberal are naive. Just as in the Republican Party there are many office office holders who seek no more than their own success and the only thing that they owe to their constituents is enough lip service to make them think that they are working for them.

In this case I find it easy to believe that this fellow finds his opponents to be right wingers. It all depends on where we draw the line between right wing and left wing. All to many believe it to be a simple matter of which party one affiliates with. D's bad R's good, R's bad D's good.

According to many left wing progressives Hillary is a flaming conservative and only laugh when other conservatives call her a progressive.

Perhaps the lesson here is that everyone should worry about improving themselves and leave the name calling out of politics regardless of what party or faction you identify with...ugh, people, they're the worst.

Right Wing Democrats in Philadelphia?

That's like saying there are Republicans in Chicago politics.

Absolutely. Because for many politicians, politics is nothing more than a means to personal success. They will adopt any label that suits them. Prime example is Trump. Trump?? A conservative?? No, simply he found the Republican Party fertile ground for his own gain.

His statement appears to be just a tactic to grab the reader's attention. Propaganda. A "dog whistle" if you will.

It's similar to Right Wingers that invoke the name of god or use the term "socialism".
