How many safeguards failed that day?

None failed that day.
We had reason to expect people to fly passenger jets into buildings.
Do we have any to prevent people from carrying bombs onto buses?
Do we have any way to prevent ships filled with ammonium nitrate from crashing into New York harbor?

That is a joke right?
The US military failed in it's most basic responsibilities to protect it's citizens on 9/11 on such a grand scale that, that in itself makes people suspicious.

Certainly there were flight plans, radars and if necessary fighter escorts?
"On any given day, more than 87,000 flights are in the skies in the United States.

So you think every plane should have a fighter escort....
"On any given day, more than 87,000 flights are in the skies in the United States.
You clearly have no idea at all!

I was referring to those close to entering or already in restricted airspace.
the Pentagon totally unprotected after attacks in NYC and just waiting to get struck.
Your version, as I read it, basically says that it wasn't NORAD's job and there is too much air traffic...
Your version is more plausible; the Pentagon totally unprotected after attacks in NYC and just waiting to get struck.

The fact is, why WASN'T more security and restrictions in place around there.
Like what exactly? What do you think they should have had in place?
The reason no security existed at all around there is because it had been removed just for this event!!
So please tell us exactly what was removed....

Are you aware that the Pentagon is LESS than ONE RUNWAY LENGTH from a civilian airport?
And it points right at the Pentagon !
Which civilian airline do you point and shoot at ?
After 15 years they still use that runway.
So please tell us how the military/Norad is protecting the Pentagon from air attacks.
Seems to me that all you need is a young jihadi pilot and a gun.
You are aware that flight crews are allowed guns now ????
One pilot shoots the other as the plane rotates and gains 500 feet in altitude on runway 33.
Then 5 seconds later nose over into the Pentagon.
Who's going to stop them?
These mythic missile's ATS thinks they have?
The conspiracy believers have this belief that the military could have stopped all the threats.
But they are dreaming. It's all fantasy.
When you have people willing to die for their religion, they are going to find weak spots.
Do you believe that our Coast Guard can protect our harbors from ships loaded with fertilizer bombs?

Did you actually read his bio page at Wiki?
He has some pretty amazing credentials, but because he mentions "jews", he is immediately cast as
an anti semite and crank? I guess he is just another crazy ex marine with a PHD in history of science..
Do YOU have a WIKI page about your accomplishments?
I don't.....Maybe I should go off on the "Jews" and gain some notoriety around here....lol
It seems to me that "we", as a society, tend to demonize that which we don't understand and we tend to
pour accolades and respect on those that don't deserve it. (as in someone like Hillary Clinton). You have to
remember that there are quite alot of people that find Silverstein a very respected businessman.
When NIST came out with their absolutely ridiculous report on the pancake theory and WTC 7 collapse from one failed column, I had to scratch my head and wonder if there really was someone "higher up" that made phone calls and
told people that, "You must give out false and fabricated information for national security and the good of the
american people".
The old phrase, "I was just doing my job", comes to mind.....
