Thanks for the laugh back! I don't know you well, but somehow, somehow I doubt seriously that you'll allow yourself to be tied down anywhere. Still, running through the neighborhood giggling and screaming "pink capes! I hate applesauce!" are not phrases that will keep you from being netted.

Where is our exacting search? Does it no longer exist? Are we doomed to never be able to winnow down ideas and queries into valid and measurable data?

Great thread, Argentus!!!!
I'd even forgotten about how search used to be!!!!

I do think exacting search is gone.
I know my husband and I search for things....trying to be trick the search engines into coughing up what we really want...and all too often ending up with about 6 somewhat related links, and many more with nothing to do with the search term.

I will say that Google Advanced Search can sometimes get you EXACTLY what you want.

Well color me aMAZED!

Ironic moment: I had to GOOGLE "Google Advanced Search" to find it!
Ironic moment #2 Google Advanced Search (GAS)

Thank you so much! While Boolean connectors still don't function in GAS, a person can really refine the search parameters down fairly precisely.

Thanks DTOM!

Any time......Bing has advanced search as well, but I prefer Google's.
It is the best way to search for info on specific sites.....
