The Royal Navy is planning a significant wargame to demonstrate the capabilities of autonomous (!) and other unmanned platforms off the coast of Scotland (assuming Scotland doesn't go all William Wallace again after the Brexit vote). The exercise will also have UUVs, USVs as well as UAVs.

The US Navy and others will be participating.

This seems like a great chance for our Brit friends (assuming there's no Pictish Uprising again) to post juicy stuff later this year.

Yeah a bit of fun for the Navy, the Brexit vote can't affect it though as the wee Scots can't change anything about defence without another independence vote (which they'd lose again ;-) )

BAE may send in the little baby Taranis in after it's latest upgrades to show how it's done but most of the stuff shown will be the lower tech ones, certainly neither of our grown up UCAV's will venture out of the black for this party, they're both still twatting targets at Dundrennan currently.

Is FCAS just a smokescreen then?

Seems a lot of bother to act out a joint agreement between BAE and D'assualt if there's actually 2 mature UCAV's already out on the range.

Wonder how many 3D printed drones are sent up. They've tested ones printed on land and then assembled and launched onboard but I'd not be surprised to see them take it to the next level.
