Canadian Police arrested 27 year old Ayanle Hassan Ali for attacking CF members in a government building in North York, Totonto. The attack occurred Monday around 3pm, when the suspect slashed one soldier's arm and failed in the next attack . The man has been identified as an airport employee at GTA who held a restricted area ID card used in 2008-09, and was subject to a 'rigorous program' of background checks to qualify for clearance.

“If the department obtains credible information indicating that an applicant or an existing clearance holder poses a transportation security risk, the department responds immediately to review the clearance of the individual in question and will suspend it as required.” On Monday afternoon, police arrested a suspect after Canadian Forces members were attacked at a government building on Yonge Street in Willowdale. Police have said a man wielding a knife yelled that Allah told him to carry out the attack. Police have said the investigation is in its early stages and they are still trying to determine a possible motive in the attack.

The suspect was described by some who knew him as an "honorable person", but a family member noticed dark changes in Hassan Ali:

Citing a cousin, the Toronto Star reported Wednesday that Ali began to show signs of dramatic change starting in 2011. The cousin, Mariam Adam, told the Star that Ali lived with her in Edmonton after putting his studies on hold and said in 2011 he became less social and started to talk about conspiracy theories, class struggle, cults and religion.

In response to the attacks, The Canadian Council of Imams "strongly denounces this criminal act and there is nothing that justifies such insanity.” Even though he acted alone, investigators are looking into the suspect's contacts for links to terrorist groups, as his comments during the attack "fit a profile".

The news has been trying to drum into us that it's not terrorism or terror related. What a bunch of retards, the guy was yelling that Allah told him to do it. I would be looking at the mosque(s) he visits and start a little search program.

Cheers - Dave

The only filter they needed but didn't use when hiring him was the name Ayanle Hassan Ali. Just the name alone is a good way to know who might start yelling Allah Akbar and begin trying to slice and dice people. Lucky he only had a knife. (It works in Israel)
This is profiling though, so it is better to just let people get hurt or killed. We wouldn't want to rile the denialists and the apologists now... /end sarcasm

Dude was screaching about Allah telling him to do it.
I cant see how this isnt terrorist related or at least influenced by the fanatics. The Cananadian media is reporting on it but really down playing it i think.

Our prime minister has vowed to bring in a slew of refugees and the people in smaller canadian cities were pretty out spoken against it.
So i think in an effort to not cause a panic, the media is actually not trying to blow this one up. It will be swept under the rug in the next few days once something a bit bigger happens

The same agenda that your PM was trying for was met in the same fashion in the States. Members in opposition to your PM will use instances like this if they fit the profile or not, while most folks just want a realistic vetting system in place so incidents like this will be the exception rather than the norm.
