Hope that things turn around for the officer. Right now he is being reported with life threatening injuries..

There is not a lot of 411 currently as to what actually took place.

The shooting took place in an open field off Texas Route 820 in Fort Worth at the end of a chase involving police and the suspects, according to Fox 4.

Police were pursuing the men when gunfire was exchanged between the two suspects and several officers on location, Fort Worth Police Chief Joel Fitzgerald told the Associated Press.

One suspect was declared dead at the scene.

Hope the officer pulls through.

There was a felony warrant on one of the suspects. The two suspects are father and son!

A second suspect managed to escape after the gunfire and was on the run from police for more than three hours before he was captured about 6:30 p.m. The missing suspect was Ed Russell Mciver, Jr. A massive manhunt for Mciver, Jr. involved hundreds of officers.

This is what cops have to deal with everyday. My heart goes out to this officer's family.
