This is becoming comical, According to a US/NATO General if Britain votes out this could unravel just when it needed to stand up to Russia. Meaning they arent actually defending Europe they were planning to attack Russia.

Lt-Gen Ben Hodges, head of the US Army in Europe, said he was "worried" the EU could unravel just when it needed to stand up to Russia. He acknowledged the vote was a matter for the British people, but said he was concerned about the outcome.

The Nato alliance and the EU needed to show solidarity in the face of Russian aggression, but that unity could be put at risk if Britain voted to leave the EU, he claimed.

Leaving the EU does not mean leaving NATO

Just because we don't want to be ruled from Brussels doesn't mean we won't come running to aid of Europe.

I don't think that NATO will be affected. There is no real connection between the two.
Although, I think NATO is a joke as is the Security Council. Talking shops that never acted properly on its charter.

UK NATO membership is by no means reliant or affected by UK membership of the EU.

The two are completely unconnected.

To even suggest such a thing displays a complete lack of knowledge and understanding......or it's an incredibly poor attempt at scaremongering.

To be honest, I don't know how you can reach this conclusion from the source article. I think this may be what you want to believe.

However, there is a view that Russia's intervention in Syria has exacerbated the refugee crisis because Russia has targeted anyone who does like Assad. Civilians, hospitals and all in between.

Also, there is clearly a view that NATO could be weakened if the political union between the UK and the EU is severed. However, this is a hypothetical worry.

The EU is a financial union. The general alliances wont change. They will strengthen.

When you cant afford national defense, US fighters and bases will become more appealing.

Its cool. We just wont see a European army...thus making the US keep its niche in global defense and dominion.

EDIT TO ADD:
If anything the UK could make a comeback as a major military power in service of Europe.

They and France will not lose military strength. France wont grow, but the UK might. I see it as natural and good. The UK is what held Europe together and always will. They need to be out of the mix to do a better job of that.

The US will focus on the rest of the world and nothing much will change.

NATO is no longer acting as a defense force but rather the opposite their actions in Libya was just the proof it. As for NATO will exist long after the EU.

I love how you defend the EU by claiming that the EU will strengthen, the EU is a financial chaotic mess. And every nation that gets to join the superstate gets the full price of its consequences.

Croatia is already witnessing the full burden of that financial mess which has being caused by the EU. Britain can handle on its own.

If it weren't for Russia's intervention in Syria, right now in Damascus it would be the FSA/Saudi/Turk Syria opposition running and controlling.

America, Western coalition forces had being in Syria for two years bombing what again? imaginary targets? could you name anything what the western forces in Syria had accomplished with their air bombings?

Its rather quite telling the moment Russians brought to S400s in Syria the Western News media completely stopped reporting about how the Western coalition forces are targeting big old scary terrorists.
