If I ever get to experience an eclipse like this, a once in a lifetime (or not at all for some) opportunity and the guy next to me was carrying on like this dimwit muppet I'd smack him right in the gob.
It would be an intense moment of reflection, powerful...

Quoted for agreement.

It is exactly that. Mine was 17 years ago and i remember it like it was yesterday.

As a non professional it's hard to determine what is glare and what is the solar flares and what not.

Yes, it's an optical illusion before the eclipse but even then if you hold a straight edge up to your monitor you can see the curvature. It's hard to see without the straight edge before totality.

After totality, it's very easy to see the Earth's curvature and you don't need any straight edge to confirm it, and if anything the illusion goes the other way, appearing to show slightly more than actual curvature, due to lighting conditions, you must be able to see that!

/// Thats sounds cool, but i think you may be remembering it wrong as Paris didnt get totality and even a 90% total eclipse doesnt dim the light by much.
///

IDK, maybe this was just so powerful experience, because happens so, im accidentally fell off onto the sidewalks and after that im looking around, not staring only eclipse anymore, but still (false probably) memory like that was supposed to be full eclipse.

We were on tour in Paris and not aware at all of this coming. Then noone have everyday internet and if you hanging at foreign city etc. u not interested any TV news. What happens to me was unexpected another reality experience, due to the noticing surrounding.

***

My first eclipse was as far ago like middle of 80s, im was teen and waiting all night along, all friends got sleep, but like 6+ AM this need to be start. Unfortunately pouring rain and was totally cloudy. Going outside and experiencing how morning got night again and then happens all birds also silenced, but nothing more to see...

*person in seat b wakes up with drool and red eyes looks at the guy who filmed and asks, what did I miss?

Where is Ted? Striker is running his mouth filming the shadow of the moon. We need him now!

Cool video. Although I got sick of the guy acting like "Ed Bassmaster" on Youtube. I had to mute the audio to continue watching to the end.

Hence why I wrote in bold to mute it right from the beginning. Haha

I'd hate to think what that guy was doing with his hands during that time...

Popping his own champagne cork I suspect..Oh not to be in the seat in front of him...

Stunned no one told him to STFU...

Great video and I wish I'd taken the mute advice

Saw Halle Bop when they did a thing from Heathrow one year, thankfully it was a freebie because you saw not so much..Most people were up there just for the booze...

Sad humans..
