Escalators are self powered

They're powered by the great God Otis, whose breath causes them to rise throughout all eternity.

We started calling on Otis (the god of very strong thermals) back in the early days of hang gliding.

Second in importance to Scotty, who would beam us up.

Not really a machine.

On the other hand, an escalator is an ascension machine.

Bedlam: Then you have thought...wrongly.
It's a pile of rock. There's nothing being stored there except rock. It's a really big rock warehouse

It is a shame they never removed the "stored" rocks to actually build something spectacular (like a seventh wonder of the world) in Cairo. Giza Platt Fats.

someone: On the other hand, an escalator is an ascension machine.

vhb;I have always thought of them as huge batteries dispensing power.

Bedlam: No, no, an escalator is more like a big exercise machine that no one uses correctly.

What say you? I never mentioned an escalator. Ancient Pyramids are a deconstructed climbing device you would pay millions to have in your yard.

They're the original stair climber.

You are thinking of OTIS "Elevators" (many floors involved); not the more benign totally Unknown inventor of the Escalator/mall people mover up and down first to second floor.

You have proven this: OTIS IS AN ALMIGHTY GOD (conquered rapid up and down space time/floor to floor travel and slow fake stairs (the tricky) disappearing ones that go underneath somewhere possibly sideways that fool those myoptic); is this sacred name near or engraved on any of the Giza Pyramids?

Are there any elevators or escalators there? If so, then there is a good chance the name is as well.

OTIS. I named my Scottish Cairn Terrier this moniker (expect a dog face). One looks at the vents of these things and imagine a wild ride down to the bottom of something. Are they gigantic batteries?

Are they gigantic batteries?

No. They are large piles of well arranged stones.

Why do you think they look like batteries? They don't look like batteries to me.

Looking at the main pyramid structure; you could deposit certain materials into the individual shafts; then they combine in one of the central chambers and could produce a reaction is all.

You could do that with a bomb shelter too. Doesn't mean anyone did, or that it would do anything if they had.

I might meet Him before the end if I have to climb far enough.

We need to inform Alwar Azari (or the current curator of Egyptian Antiquites Cairo) to look out for "OTIS" instead of "HORUS" as possibly being a misinterpretation of something regarding space/time movement of the up and down instead of "a need to mummify the body in a belief of a falsely perceived totally fake afterlife".

You could. I am saying this pyramid was a battery; created at least 12000 years ago for a purpose.

Created for a purpose. Indeed.
A battery, no. "Some chemicals. Some sort of reaction." No idea but yeah, that's it, a battery.

12,000 years ago, no.

Well.. yes and no. The pharaoh went on to be a deity (an Osiris) and was worshipped (as long as the funds for worship held out.) Also, depending on which Pyramid Text/Coffin Text you read, the deceased ascended on wings, on the arms of gods, on the thighs of Nepthys and Isis, and a bunch of other things... at least until the Middle Kingdom when they didn't ascend but had to travel through a series of portals and later a cavern with portals.

And IF you had kept ma'at and IF Anubis liked you, and IF your heart didn't decide that you were unworthy of afterlife, then you would be led by Anubis to meet Osiris and Isis and Nepthys and they would welcome you as a spirit and give you your inherited part of the land.

Quite charming, actually.

And then there was Ammit (oblivion) for the Not Very Nice.
