What are the new Avatar Restrictions: Post update

So, there have been a few updates to the forum so far that have changed a number of things. A big one for us graphics-folk is the avatars (which now forever repeat, which is cool). However, the old maximum dimensions were something like 200x435, which is clearly not the case any more.

What are our new restrictions for avatar images? How tall are we allowed to make them? and what's the new maximum width (because it is now less than 200 pixels)



Currently mine, and the one's I've been making for others upon request, are set at 200x2000 pixels, and it is certainly an interesting way to make avatars.

For those that are unaware of the changes, the repeating avatars could simply be lengthened in hight to produce interesting results as you can see by my avatar one the left hand side.

Any ideas?

Am I the only one not seeing any kind of repeating avatars or backgrounds?

I'm on a totally factory standard iPad using safari to browse. I actually hope it doesn't change. Other screen shots I've seen look crowded.

it only enlarge the background, you have an avatar and not a background so yours wont change, you just get a huge bar of the color of your background

I don't know what the limits are, but member Kantzveldt said he made his 6000 long, and it worked fine.

Yeah, I don't think there is a 'physical' limit. I was mainly referring to the rules of limitation.

I'm thinking as long as they fall within a reasonable size in KB's, a limitation may not be necessary. Skeptic was thinking 1200. If he could write that into the coding, it would nix the repeating avi's. It may take some time for the dust to settle from this upgrade, but I already think what some of you are doing with it is interesting. I may have to visit the Avatar creation thread at some point. I'm out of ideas for my name. I need some fresh minds. lol.

I see things the same as Atsbhct. Using Mac-Yosemite with Safari. I've only seen the tiling in screenshots provided by others.
