Heads up Skeptic! Avatars are going mad!

ok hey does this mean you are updating the background parameters? Will they be posted in an update notice later on? Are the height parameters unlimited now, but only display based on content input of post???

Seems like a fun way to encourage others to contribute more than a single sentence, filling threads with pages of one liner back and forths.....

Has anyone tested how high it will go?????

noooooo!!!! It will fill me with nightmares and terror for years!! I capped mine at 1000, SO recommends 1200. I think I want to push this limit and see how big a post 3000 pixels+ will do.

My avatar is currently 200x2000. So the above post is about 2100 pixels

I suppose that would be getting close to hitting the limit then. I am trying to find a great vertical photo online of the side of a reef or where the shelf drops. Try to get that contrasting light to dark theme. Like a vertical panorama.

I've gotta admit, I really like this lol.

Not sure I like the idea..concept is nice..
I would hate to have to scroll forever just to read a few lines..

Oh wow, how did you do that? Just glue together a bunch of your existing backgrounds, and then upload the whole shebang?

Hey, I am immune to the glitch. The glitch only applies to avatar background - mine is not a background so it doesn't repeat.

I was wondering what was going on with my avatar suddenly repeating. Now that I know what happened, it is time for the Creative fun to start.

Muhahahahahaha! Thanks S.O. Lots of work ahead. Got to trash my pieced together avatar. What are the height limits or are there none, only post length? Make it a serious issue considering making an avatar that will stretch and not repeat unless there is a height limit. Or is it using 2 avatars, one for the background and one for the avatar? More figuring out to do I guess.

I know how much you all like my avatar, and it must be a good thing that I normally write far too long comments, so now you'll see it every pixel of the page down!

Might be DDoS attacks. Either that or something to do with this.

If this system of post-length avatars is going to be a thing, I really hope there's an option to turn it off. In another vein, I wish there was an option to turn off the background images. I really liked the slightly older, sleek look of ATS, and now there's crap all over the place. As well as the new topic displays. T_T

Would someone post a screenshot of the repeated avatars? Im on a Mac running Safari and everything looks normal to me.
