I am so glad you asked this question.

For clarity - if you flip the bird, shout and and smirk at a group of people after interrupting their rally then NO - THIS IS NOT FREE SPEECH. Its an abuse of the 1st amendment. It's inciting violence.
Peaceful and respectful protest is fine. What this guy did was not.

Shouting and smirking is still part of expressing yourself. So basically you think its ok to take justice into your own hands if someone shows a middle finger, I wonder how that will play out in court. But Im not really surprised Trump-supporters or "righties" think like that, its that eye for an eye- mentality that brought your country and the world where it is now.

And if someone from that riot had killed a Trump supporter Im pretty sure he wouldve been tried for murder not disrupting speech either. When was even the last time in the US anybody got fined for disrupting free speech? Does that even happen?

The old man was arrested. Happy?

Sheesh, what do you people want? Everyone to fall in line behind you?

Im sorry I dont support those riots, nor the dude that got suckerpunched, Im just pointing out how hypocritical some people are here. And in what group of people do I belong now exactly? Are you generalizing here?

I have been watching Donald since he first announced his run. I'm telling you Donald can not stand on stagefor a year, and promote divison, and hatred under the mask of a slogan. He can not stand on stage, and mock protesters, insult them while exerting his 'power' over them, clearly aware of how outnumbered the protester is, and then be surprised when he is met with a large protest in one of the most racially diverse area of the USA.

You can't sit there and pretend you are the victim when you have been instigating this from the beginning. Donald knows exactly what he is doing when he refuses to speak in absolutes. It takes nothing to tell his followers to focus on the prize 'Making American Great'.

No, he continues to dance around anything suggesting unity, which leads people to believe he is NOT for peace and unity. And it is true, he is not.

Again, I am saying. You can't not instigate the fight, and then act surprised when the fight comes to you. Trump is an agent of confusion. Supporters just make excuses for him. You say you are not for him, but I am sure you are leaning in his direction, despite your words on here.

Cause nothing says better than "Don't stereotype me" than a Hispanic wearing a Sombrero to a protest. Can't wait to see what they will pull out of their bag in Cleveland.

I'm sorry, but anyone who says, "We need to crack down on illegal immigration and the illegals already in the country." Was going to be branded in this manner. Any one who pointed out that bringing in Syrian refugees without a reliable vetting process in place was going to be branded this way.

In short, anyone who upholds US national sovereignty and our right to police our borders and enforce our immigration laws was going to be branded Hitler by certain groups, like the ones who set up this protest.

So basically in the end what this boils to is - We don't like what you're saying, so we are going to make sure you can't say it.

It is anti-free speech. Imagine if the TEA Party organized protests specifically designed to shut down a Bernie Sanders rally in a similar manner because we don't like the implied loss of liberty of a socialist country. You would be screaming bloody murder this morning, and you know it.

Edit to add: I never see anyone set up this kind of concerted effort to stop a KKK or Neo-Nazi rally. Do you know why? Because none of you actually care about that. What you care about is that Trump might accidentally win, so know you suddenly care about trying to terrorize and flash mob him out of existence. Now you don't want to let him air his ideas because you realize they might actually have more appeal than your own.

It's a disgusting tactic. Try winning appeal with your ideas and win fairly. Convince us you're right, but after last night, you have a lot further to go.

You forgot to add the sign he was holding that said "No Mexico = No Tacos."

It's a good thing I have been teaching myself to cook authentic Mexican over the years ...

Give it up for this brave young man speaking his mind in the midst of all the chaos.

I felt horrible for that kid, but he probably learned a valuable lesson about the left last night.

I'm on my phone, not sure what the pin button next to quote and reply is for, but i accidentally pressed it on this post of David64's. Just wanted to point out, in case it's the "alert" button, there was no cause for it other than my clumsy thumb!

I did want to reply to the post, however, just to say it was a good thought, and, well, let's hope none of these turn any uglier. Thankfully this wasn't too bad.

I have a feeling either the Trump camp or an opposing political force instigated this. Either way it doesn't matter if people get hurt; the rest of us are just pawns to them.

Trump just canceled tomorrow's rally in Cincinnati. Secret service not able to set up enough security in time.

ETA: I'm having issues posting on ATS again. Anyone else having this problem?

This is something that needs to be resolved and quickly.

The left can't be allowed to destroy a candidate's campaign through these tactics. It takes dirty politics to a whole new level.

If we really have gotten this low, America is truly dead. We have effectively lost free speech and I guess it's time to start fighting fire with fire and people need to start showing up with open carry to Bernie and Hillary rallies whenever possible and shutting them down.

Time to hold another campaign hostage.

And the generalization continues. As long as it supports your agenda.

Here I can do the same:

I feel horrible for that guy, but he probably learned a valuable lesson about the right last night....

The only difference is you will probably try to find an excuse why the protestor deserved it, and Im not even condoning what that small group of ignorant teens (or the left as you claim) do in your video. And I dont think the guy who punched the protester in my video is represents the right. Even though this thread alone would make one inclined to think so.

I wonder how much effort Obama's buddies put into disrupting Trump's rally with the intent on making Hillary's campaign look better. Let's see...... Rahm Emanuel is Mayor of Chicago. And Bill Ayers was there.

"Obama buddy and domestic terrorist Bill Ayers was seen protesting Donald Trump in Chicago today".

Hell has officially frozen over - I agree with you. I was okay with peaceful protesting outside the rally, but this transformed into something pretty ugly. It would have been much more effective if the protesters remained peaceful while the Trump supporters were the ones being violent - but that's not how it happened.

Trump is terrible and we should be protesting him. But there are better ways to do it. Martin Luther King showed us how, but people seemed to have forgotten him.

Considering that we pretty much know this was organized by MoveOn, BLM and Sanders supporters with possible involvement from other similar orgs ... are you saying they aren't leftist orgs?

That's funny. I saw that kid and this is what he said about the reasons he likes Don.

"well, because it's all about the money. Money is the most important thing. I'm here because it's about the money. And the money. And our money money money."

I'm sure the LEFT kids also learned a great deal about the values of these young Republicans too. Sadly.

lol.

The kid was also trying hard not to cry. Who knows what he might have said had he not been harassed so hard? But you know what? For a lot of people who are barely making ends meet thanks to the policies of the last 8 years, money is a whole more important than it should be.

And yes, I saw plenty of leftist values on display when the reporter was working the crowd. It was all over the signs. It was all in the language being displayed on national TV. It was in the idiots parroting FOX, FOX, FOX, FOX, FOX, endlessly until it became clear the reporter was going to talk to them and suddenly drowning out the reporter wasn't important ...

These people have no idea what either free speech or democracy either one look like. They only understand mod rule and their own selfish desires, and God help us all if we vote to put them in charge of anything.

Next time the friends see Joe....Hey , Joe the Cruz convention is in town. Lets go bust it up. Joe: You know I have a job and a life. Not enough time with my responsibilities to do childish things anymore. My style of protest from now on will be the right way. Vote. Perhaps get into politics myself . Try and change things. At least I will be doing something constructive.(besides Joe still has the burn marks on his derriere from the last time)
Yes I once was a Liberal "tree hugging hippie radical" I know where young people are coming from , Been there , done that , got the scars and the flower t-shirt to prove it.
Peace everyone.

............and how does that support an agenda? As witnessed last night, Moveon.org and their lefty members only believe in freedom of speech for themselves. They won't even let the other side say a word, before tearing up their signs. At least Trump protestors are able to speak first before being removed. Little do they realize last night and any subsequent actions by them only benefits Trump.

No let me explain again. Im saying they are not representitives of the left. They have their own agendas. You generalize the left. You portray the left as consisting of violent mobs with ignorant viewpoints. Thats the same as saying the right consists of neo-nazis.

Rubio takes back his pledge to support Trump. What?! I didn't even know he was going to endorse him. I thought Rubio hated the guy!

This was on Fox news. Can't find a link yet.
