I think in this case there wasn't rain. More along starting rain versus creating heavier rain.

Oh. Of course. Reverse Coriolis and such, I suppose.

Then maybe the weather service is covering up the ability to alleviate droughts, etc. They could have helped out some farmers and rancher in the past.

Or they are just helping those who control them.

In the US the federal government doesn't really get involved with cloud seeding. Not for producing water anyway, maybe a bit for fog reduction at airports on occasion, but I don't think they even do that much anymore.

I suspect they gave up. The military would have had fun with it I bet.

The ability to control the weather (large scale) would be a powerful tool and wealth maker.

I sincerely hope that day never comes.

The Military already did use it. Operation Popeye. They seeded the monsoon season in Viet Nam and apparently did have success at making it rain more, but since then, a treaty was signed so no country could use weather modification in warfare.

Why are you being so childishly with the really really really nonsense. If you find the idea so incredulous just look it up. Cloud seeding isn't exactly a secret.
