If every nation in the world allied and invaded the United States, would they succeed?

It would be a tough fight, and surely change humanity forever.

Vast numbers of Americans also sleep without guns, doors unlocked. many of us aren't even afraid of terrorists, because 1) most of their threat is mythical and symbolic and 2) we probably armed them to fight last week's bad guy in the first place.

We don't "fear" our government. We think they are baboons. Most of them are incapable of organizing a gay-play date with an intern without photos hitting Twitter that same evening.

We are frustrated, certainly, as virtually no one actually feels represented by whatever-the-hell the insane cabal of demon worshiping morons at the pentagram is cooking up today.

Mostly we don't care. We don't have time to care. It takes 12 more hours of work just to pay the mortgage / rent than it did in the 90's. It takes another 9 to buy groceries and medicine. We are stressed, certainly, and bored. That's why the Kardashians used to be popular. People are numb and bored and dead inside by the time they arrive home from their #ty jobs and their know-it-all Libertarian boss, after a 90 minute commute. We do it all to keep the lights on, because the alternative is anarchy, for everyone, everywhere.

We knowingly break whatever laws we are certain to get away with because we don't care what our leaders say.

We would love a new system, but the media apparatus is so entrenched its hard to make any headway outside of art, which has also been homogenized and commodified almost absolutely.

We see pictures of soldiers fighting for "freedom" in countries half a world away and we grimace. We know the real freedom fighters are the people fighting invaders in their own land.

We love / hate one another and bicker constantly.

Give us a reason to fight on our own streets against the rest of the world and the blood would run for centuries.

Most of us just want to be left the hell alone. Especially by our so called leaders, whom, frankly -- we hate as much or even more than you do.

Having looked at what the Op has asked, and given this some though here is the answer to this:
The first thing would be to put together countries who could put forth the manpower, money and resources to this endeavor, and I would recruit from different countries for such.

The list of countries would surprise and at the same time be necessary for such.
China would be one, for some of the financing and resources.
Russia for Resources.
Iran for money.
Cuba for the spies.
North Korea, and Pakistan, along with several of the Islamic states.
Mexico and other Latin and South American countries.
And the rest could be for the man power required to make a successful strike.
This would require 4 stages to set up and once done, would do enough damage to allow for the rest to come in.
Here is how you set this up:

I mentioned Cuba, cause its spy agency has only one real target and that is the USA. Of all of the spies out there the Cuban spies have been very successful in getting into the government un noticed at all, and have infiltrated at various levels. That provides some information.
To get more information, the first stage is to fly in tourists. They would fly in and be tourist, seeing the country with the primary goal to gather information. Maps, and where key infrastructure points are. Simple non classified information. And to get a feeling of what the population feels like and where the greatest population threats would be, along with the best ways to get around. And where the supplies can be acquired and gotten.
While that is going on, get with the countries that do not like the USA, including Mexico, Latin and South American countries. From there you make deals and take their prisoners off of their hands, that would be the first wave of men into the USA.
Then comes the next stage of this plan, the second wave, and that is getting people into the country, to disappear to acquire supplies on a mass scale, nothing obvious, food, and moving around, getting other things, like some fire arms or the necessary equipment to make ammo, and explosives, along with other devices.

At the same time, moving mass numbers of armed persons just out of sight, but well within striking distance. After all tourist coming in and having the military equipment show up later would be a good way to do a sneak attack. Also there would be no high-tech communications at all, this way it would chance of there being captured or evesdropped on.
The first sign of the attack, would be where North Korea and several Islamic states attack, but not the USA, but North Korea launches an offensive against South Korea, and a direct attack on Israel. That would force the USA to divert military forces to those areas, to honor the treaties that are going on, and it has to be massive where those countries call for help. Wait 3 days after the deployments start and then launch an all out offensive on the USA directly. The first strike would be at different infrastructure points. Black outs and communications attacked. Along with all out cyber attacks on governmental and military computers and satellites, to hamper, and or take down. If they have managed it, jamming radio and cell communications in larger cities to create chaos and panic. While the country is dealing with coordinated attacks like that, the first wave of men hitting the soil, not by boat or air plane but over the ground, those would be all of the criminals and gangs and cartels launching an offensive against the various cities and authorities in the area, with the military moving in and fast, to hit the bases in the area. While the authorities scramble to get to those points, then the air and boats move in and start hitting the strategic points, like governmental offices and military basis, hitting specifically repair and building spots. Another target would be the missile silo's to keep or damage them where Nuclear weapons could not be used and thus hamper the area.

One other first strike spot would be the spots that are used to decommission unconventional weapons, to cause more problems in the area, where those create a hazard for all around the area.

Then once those are hit, start securing supply lines and pacifying the local population.

It would take a ground force of about 3 million.

I think people should consider the D-Day landings at Normandy. The allies required 156,000 men for the landings with 800,000 follow on while facing only 50,000. They had total air and naval domination. They still needed 1,200 warships, over 4000 landing craft, and another 1,500 different types of vessels. They used 2,200 bombers to hit the coast in support of the landings. They also used 10s of thousands of paratroopers and operated with the French resistance. It was the largest sea borne invasion in history and it nearly failed. And they were only crossing the English channel.

That should put into perspective what it would take to invade the US. The distance, the number men, planes, and ships do not exist to even try. Most of the world navies can not operate much beyond their own shores. When the world wants to send troops somewhere even in small numbers they have ask the US for a lift. The US Navy backed by the US Air Force would be impossible to get past simply because the enemy could never get enough aircraft in range to do over come them. And to make matters even worse they would be facing the fastest most mobile forces in history while trying to land.

This is an interesting scenario to think about. Here's my two cents on how to go about it.

1. The Vatican declares a Holy War while Islamic leaders call for a Jihad against the U.S. Within 48 hours all loyal Catholics and Muslims begin to riot and disrupt law and order in various states. Giving the local police and the National Guard a handful.
2. Chinese, Israeli and German hackers begin to attack. The NSA and Pentagon are in chaos. Power and communications become very vulnerable.
3. Israel, Russian, British and French spies and assassins are activated simultaneously. Killing key military and political figures. Top military generals are revealed to be turncoats. Sleeper cells also immediately sabotage key infrastractures like bridges, power and communications.
4. North Korea, India, Pakistan, Iran, China, Russia, France and the United Kingdom all launch their nuclear missiles. Donald Trump throws his toupe on the floor of the underground bunker in frustration.
5. Wave after wave of angry Latinos with automatic weapons and even RPGs flood in from the border. They may be cannon fodder but they sure make a mess of things. The Latin American army with armored and air assets follow them.
6. European forces led by the British march in from Canada.
7. Middle Eastern and African forces make their way to the Eastern boarders.
8. Asian forces sneak in via Western landings.
9. Sweden declares neutrality.
10. Within a week since the Catholic and Muslim uprising...Olympus has fallen.

This is just a broad...hollywood style scenario so don't take it seriously. Interesting though if some of you can work out the details. By tomorrow we'll have the NSA breaking into our accounts thinking we really are up to something. lol

Of course they will. You have 10 nuclear states, 5 of them having ICBM. India is in the number along with Israel, while France and Britain are not with ICBM.

I'm sorry but threads like this just make me chuckle. First off, if anything remotely close to some of the scenarios were to occur it would mean the end of the globe. Someone suggested taking out ICBM's, do you realize that there are so many tactical nukes in the US arsenal that nobody knows about. The US probably has got a stash of weapons in reserve underground that nobody knows about, why do you think they dig all the deep tunnels. Where do you think that part of the 17 Trillion $$ debt came from.

Anyone that was to set foot onto American soil would quickly find out how well the citizens are armed. Instantly we would have a 125 million man army. Americans don't have just one gun, they have arsenals, in some cases big enough to supply a small neighborhood. And if you think I jest then you are sadly mistaken. You would be attacking them on their turf which they no much better.

Many people on here have watched "Red Dawn" to many times, wake up from your dream and go on with your lives.

In a scenario of this magnitude, which would threaten even the assets and lives of the power elite, we would probably see some of what our black budget trillions have been paying for since WWII. I don't want to get into it with aliens folks here, but it's clear to me that UFOs are advanced US military aircraft. As far as we know, much of this technology has never been deployed in a combat situation. We can only imagine what sort of offensive capabilities these craft would have against any and all targets.

Ok, so with the proviso of no nukes - aliens have disabled them for all.

I'd go with sending in a bunch of terrorist/sleeper cells to engender chaos and as this is hypothetical, I'm putting my morality to the side.

Just fund the racial, political and economic tensions already present. If you can get a bunch of white (non-muslim looking) suicide attackers, just ramp up the school shootings etc, furthering weapon caching amongst the more militant population. Sleeper cells could certainly make the next FBI siege(s) a lot more volatile as well. This can be left to simmer, you can now and then return to stir every few months. As so many have gleefully mentioned, Americans are armed and angry, if done correctly no one need invade at all at first.

Give this a couple years, see how tense the country gets - then more overt terrorism, but claim it on the part of preppers and right-wingers... there are a lot of easy targets that would cause a lot of problems which I'd guess would be fairly easy, look at Interstate routes and where they converge - good target for a truck of explosives, there's less than 100 points where interstate road routes converge, truck bomb at each of those points is doable with a minimal foreign military agents posing as tourists and all they'd need would be the financial resources. Double-down for rail-freight with the same tactic. If these can initially be made or claimed to look like well organised domestic terrorism, the country is going to be in a really bad state and more than likely under martial law without an overt invasion, perhaps even martial law requirng bringing a large portion of overseas US troops home.

Then invade for reals.
