Sorry Zero....thought I post it for the 'laughs' aspect of it.

I would probably say mathematics. Many don't see it as an invention, per se', but in truth mathematics did come from man's thinkings......without mathematics, well, it speaks for itself, don't it?

math is an ongoing discovery.
it's also the only thing that can't lie.
language is an invention. or better, an organism.
official history's a pretty great invention.

you obviously didn't buy a mac, haha!
our minds have become quadrophenic.
you guys understand mcluhan? i'm not saying i do, but i'm starting to "get" it.
perhaps these mind splitting devices(language, writing, computers, ...) are only seen as wonderful because we can't remember the alternative.
if you're interested in tying your brain into knots and then unbraiding at a later date, check out bob dobbs' essays on xenochrony. try and read james joyce's "finnegans wake".
only the really lost and found puppies will be interested.

Language, how is language and invention of man.
Its natural, most animals use some sort language to communicate with themselves.
Whales use sonar
birds chirp
Etc
Im not to sure if Language is a creation of man?

Although, newspaper is a worthy substitute, which leads to another great invention...

that was some good zerodeepin'!
language is more of an indepenent organism that is co-created by the collective interchange of cognisance between all the individual humans.
i'm gonna go zerodeep another three-ed now.

i would have to say teh internet as a true invention language and stuff like that would have came about no matter what because of basic human instinc to communicate. hell if we didnt have language we couldnt meet otha ppl and hook up and girls would be stuck with vibrators.

to answer all that dont think that children are humanities greatest creation.

What exactly is your background info that says this isn't true. Our instint is to have sex, children is the ultimate creation because without them thier is no art, computers or george forman grills. We pass our creativity to them and they in turn us it to create art and other creative things. Its a circle, even though It sounded philosophical, it wasn't, it was the base of the question. Illmatic lol @ you for not having the mentality of seeing art and children as an answer to a simple oppiniated question.

I disagree, Our inner instinct of survival for our species is the brainchild of children. Art is created from our hearts, from our urge to cleanse an inner desire, this is not true for all artists, Every artist has a different reason for created art.

I stick by my comment, children I think are the greatest creation.

My bad, I meant my other comment to Illmatic67

I do believe that art comes from the brain though.
