The Peace of God to all that belong to the Light,
Dear Readers,

Hypnosis is a discipline that is as old as civilization. It appeared first time probably in Ancient Egypt or in Ancient India, but it was clear than when Marco Polo visited China in the XIII century it was already there.

Hypnosis state is a kind of trance in which critical judgment is visibly reduced, the person obeys instructions or suggestions given by the hypnotist , who, however, to be able to perform it must have gained the trust of the person that is hypnotized.

Hypnosis is a state of human consciousness involving focused attention and reduced peripheral awareness and an enhanced capacity for response to suggestion.

Theories explaining what occurs during hypnosis fall into two groups. Altered state theories see hypnosis as an altered state of mind or trance, marked by a level of awareness different from the ordinary conscious state. In contrast, Non-state theories see hypnosis as a form of imaginative role-enactment.

Modern Hypnosis appeared in Europe in between the XVI and XVII centuries with notable Physicians like Paracelsus, Franz Anton Mesmer, and James Braid in Switzerland, Germany, and Scotland respectively who associated it with the theory of the animal magnetism, a kind of energy that can be used to enter in the subconscious mind of others and reprogram it.

Phillipus Bombastus Paracelsus

Franz Anton Mesmer

James Braid and Hypnosis in Surgery

There has been many uses of Hypnosis, the medical and dentistry ones are fully accepted and practices by thousands of professionals of health sector for its anesthetic properties, that can replace chemical anesthetics perfectly in carrying out surgery. Also it is very well know its reduction of bleeding properties, since under hypnosis veins and arteries can be contracted to slow down or even stop the flow of blood.

Gregory Rasputin was a so famous Hypnotist from the Ural region of Western Siberia born in 1866that appeared in the Imperial court of Russia by the 1910s and became extremely powerful politically thanks to his skills to stop the hemorrhages of the Tsarevitch Aleksei Romanov who suffered hemophilia.

Grigori Efimovich Rasputin

During the political crisis of Russia in 1917 there were many accusations against the influence of Rasputin over the Royal couple, suggesting that he was the real ruler of Russia until his murder in 1916 by a political plot carried by Prince Felix Yusupoff and the Duma politician

In the 1950s an extremely gifted Hypnotist made a brilliant career as stage illusionist in Atlantic City, New Jersey, where Donald Trump has his Taj Mahal casino, his name was Harry Arons, who later founded the so prestigious Ethical Hypnosis Society in west Orange, NJ.

Pls read: en.wikipedia.org...

Arons became the most influential figure of the modern hypnosis in the US, he taught hundreds of physicians and dentists in his Institute and also published various specialized magazines Hypnosis Quarterly since 1950s to 1970s on the subject.

Harry Arons and Ethical Hypnosis

As writer, Arons was part to be editor of Hypnosis Quarterly, author of "New Master Course in Hypnotism;" Co-author of "Handbook of Professional Hypnosis" with Marne F. H. Bubeck, Clinical Psychologist and author of "Hypnosis in Criminal Investigation" where he pioneered in utilizing hypnosis in the judicial system.

Arons never disclosed fully how he learnt Hypnosis, in interviews on the radio he used to say he was a self educated person in the art, but in articles he claimed to be taught by his own father, who was a Lithuanian immigrant and who claimed to have learnt his skills from Rasputin himself before the revolution.

One of the most famous students that took the courses of Arons in 1970s was the famous Barrie Konicov, who founded an empire on the business of hypnosis tapes in 1980s, and also had one of the most notorious scandals of Tax evasion of the US History and was a candidate to the Congress for the state of Michigan by the Libertarian party in 1994.

Barrie Leslie Konicov Hypnosis Tapes Tycoon

Other famous Hypnotist coming from Eastern Europe was Georgi Gurdieff, a Armenian-Greek business man born also in 1866 in the Caucasus mountains who made a very successful Hypnotist career in Georgia and Russia, and then moved to France after the Bolshevik Revolution claiming that he also was a healer at the service of the Russian Imperial Court after the death of Rasputin.

He wrote a famous book in the Subject Titled :" Advices of Beelzebub to his grandson!"

Georgi I. Gurdieff Hypnotist Guru

There is a Gurdieff foundation operating in Philadelphia, the same city where Donald Trump studied and graduated in the Business School of University of Pennsylvania.

Gurdieff foundation at Philadelphia

This a hypothesis proposed by the so prestigious Forbes Magazine published in November 28th of 2015 an article of Ralph Benko, where the journalist pointed that Donald Trump might be using well known techniques of mass hypnosis in his speeches.

Please check:
Forbes Magazine: Donald Trump, Political Mass Hypnotist

Have you noticed the way he moves his hands?

I mean the way he uses to move them in pendulum motion and then join the fingers of them, look like in an Indian mudra pose?

Also the special modulation of his voice, in many moments he speaks less loudly whispering key phrases to the microphone , and the mesmerizing way he look with his piercing eyes to the public,

Well those tricks used in Hypnosis to capture the attention of people while he is sending powerful suggestions to their minds to support and vote for him.

Adolf Hitler was also a Master of Political mass Hypnosis, have you noticed that he also used exhaustively his hands in his speeches? :

How Hitler used Mass Hypnosis techniques

Mass Hypnosis: Adolf Hitler is Back!

Carly Fiorina was Right when labeled him as an entertainer, in the first or second debate, but she was short in to describe what kind of entertainer: a fine stage hypnotist, a master of illusionism, able to make the masses of supporters to dream in a Future that only exist in his mind.

The thread is of course open to the free discussion of these claims, provided that you remain in topic and under the respect to the rules of decorum and mutual respect in the communication.

Thanks for your attention,

Very interesting theory.
Could be a very useful ability in negotiations with Putin and the Iranians.

Interesting topic.

If you pay attention to many people in the media, politics and others that have quite a bit of exposure, many of these techniques are used. If you take a decent public-speaking course, you can learn some of the techniques as well.

Control of voice, body language and a bit of Neurolinguistic knowledge plays a role in Trump's speech lessons, I'm sure.

Forbes,

One such technique is what Adams describes as a “linguistic kill shot,” in which Trump uses an engineered set of words that changes or ends an argument decisively. According to Adams, when Trump describes Jeb Bush as low energy, Carly Fiorina as robotic, or Ben Carson as nice, he’s imprinting a label you already feel about these people. They’re not random insults, but linguistic kill shots that you can never get out of your mind.

He isn't actually hypnotizing people. His trashtalk is just smart. With your logic every politician is trying to hypnotize people.

NLP or neurolinguistic programming is a highly valued skill in the business world. Expensive retreats, training camps, books, seminars ect are attended by power-executives the world over.

Being it's Trump, I would not be surprised at all if he is using NLP to enhance his ability to persuade people into doing what he wants. It would be stupid of him not to have read or taken NLP training.

A very simply example of NLP...

Don't picture a duck in your mind.

Did I just make you think about a duck? See, I got you do something.

A lot of NLP is making people do things you want them to do, all while having them believe they're doing it on their own, of their own free will and choice. It's creepy to see someone doing something YOU made them do, and all the while they are convinced it was their idea.

Bingo!

Throw in a confident voice and the right body language, and you achieve damn near anything you want.

Yeah, it's also about how you phrase stuff too.

THIS spurred a lot of modern NLP techniques in the business world. Some of that stuff is freaky. China actually banned that book for a while (it's an Amazon link, don't worry)

So Trump supporters are weak-minded racists.

I know you dislike Trump, but insulting his supporters won't get you very far.

Dear DBCowboy,

As the opening post clearly says this is a hypothesis proposed in an article recently published by the Journalist Ralph Benko of the so prestigious Forbes Magazine, more specifically in their issue of November 28th 2015.

By the way if we consider carefully it suggests a very interesting theory of why Donald Trump has the kind of meteoric ascensus he has showed in Politics this year.

Since the subject is Mind control based on masses hypnosis I considered it was appropriate for one of the forums on Paranormal or rare unexplained phenomena of ATS.

Of course, as a serious ATS member with almost a decade of trajectory posting interesting threads, I have respectfully complained to the Supermoderator and requesting a reconsideration on the reasons for which it was moved to another forum of the one it was originally posted at.

Science knows that Hypnosis works, however there still many doubts about why? although it is a so ancient knowledge serious scientific research on it is still really recent.

I am sure the intention of Mr Benko is to explain a rare political phenomenon that has been right now analyzed by many sociologists and political scientists around the country.

His hypothesis, among others that have been discussd by the media analysts, is valid in the framework of a serious research about the accelerated pace of Trump career to the Whitehouse.

To say that it represents an insult to his supporters or voters I believe is merely subjective, it belongs to what is a Value Judgment on it, it goes beyond the scope of the original journalist investigation.

I have a very clean record on absolute respect of the norms of decorum and mutual respect in the communication in all the forums I use to post in ATS, so I wouldn't be the person to bring insults to other members here.

I think Ralph Benko did a tremendous job in to detect aspects in the personality or style of Donald Trump, what you decide to call his charisma, that can be explained though the properties of collective hypnosis.

What the article focus is the power of seduction of Trump over the masses, not if it is morally correct, it just mentions the presence in his rhetoric of elements that belong to Hypnotic mind control.

Now, the fact that this research may alert people of factors or resources that were not previously explained by other sociology theories on the fast momentum and success of Trump political campaign in this 2016, that may have been used to convince them, independently of ethical considerations, makes it interesting and deserves to be considered and known by the public opinion.

The Public opinion deserves to be informed that this methods of promoting political causes exist, so my intention to bring it to ATS is merely as useful information for members interested also in different applications of Hypnosis.

Thanks for all your replies,
