They can carry external fuel tanks, so they would be able to carry a pod mounted system.

I would love to see someone build something like the Tornado's submunitions dispensers, adaptable to the F-18/F-15E/F-35, that would instead spit out dozens, if not hundreds of these tiny swarm drones.,

The pods exist. We would carry up to four of them on our helicopters. In the 80's we worked on a system to decoy anti-ship missiles (Exocet). This involved our helicopter flying at a certain altitude at a certain speed ejecting chaff as we went. To the radar on an anti-ship missile we looked like a large ship. We had a sensor that would allow us to measure the signal strength and pulse repetition rate of the missile. When these got to certain levels we would stop the chaff, turn towards the missile and hover. It's radar would lose lock and try to reacquire another target. Now try the same thing with these drones. Instead of the chaff falling down to the water, a swarm of these could fly along in a predetermined formation allowing the helo time to get clear. One helicopter could deploy multiple swarms to simulate an entire battlegroup. Imaging what a couple V-22s could do.
