the hill In a pledge off allegiance style chant, Trump had rally goers swear they would vote for him. I knew it was only a matter of time, seeing all of those hands go up was pretty frightening. I am guessing that even this is mot enough to sway his supporters.

Damn! Sorry I missed being there!

So what? Politicians put their hands on the Bible and take an oath to honor the Constitution, yet I don't see many getting offended by those who do not honor their Oath?

This Hitler thing is getting old and reeking of desperation......

Awesome that you even used the emotional word "frightening"!

a reply to: seeker1963 Because it did frighten me. I am on mobile right now, but i am not the only one. Civil rights groups and the Anti Defamation league have weighed in. Swearing an oath to tell the truth in court or pledging allegiance to the flag is miles and miles fron raising your right hand in allegiance to Trump. It is a movement used by neo nazi and white supremacist groups.

If you can't see that standing up on a podium and telling a crowd to raise their right hand to swear allegiance isnt a bright idea, you don't need to be running for pres. It would be like bernine telling all his followers to bring a hammer and sickle to his event.

Yep!

Tired of people pretending to be so much more intelligent than those they disagree with and stooping so low to compare someone to Hitler because they have nothing left. If those who call anyone voting for someone for president that is a scary dude, he will bring down the apocalypse and calls other people uneducated, misinformed blah blah blah, the real laugh is is for those of us who realize the President can't do squat with out the house and senate! Our founders set our system of government up the way they did for a reason! Checks and Balances!

Frightening right?

Odd how those who claim to be so much more intelligent and educated can't grasp that concept?

Plus I work in the psychiatric industry and we are making mad bank off of adults being offended and scared!

Why does the clip mysteriously end just before he says he was just messing around and what's frightening about people putting their hands up...?

Wow this is a really righteous cause....

Hillary made people sign a pledge to vote for her to enter some event or other. It's dumb and completely unenforcable, but probably works on some psychological level.

Because "out of context" is part of the smear tactics.

Yes, he's being compared to hitler because there's nothing left; he's such a slick, antiestablishment candidate that the only thing left is the ad-hitlerum. It can't possibly be the scapegoating, bullying, small-minded, xenophobic, nationalistic, authoritarian rhetoric wherein all of the worst examples of society love him and rally behind him in spite of actual evidence that he's awful.

Is constant hitler comparisons a little much? Maybe, I'd rather not run the risk of finding out how true they really are.

Here's an ABC link, and one on ATS regarding Hillary's "Loyalty pledge". I think the idea is dumb, and slightly unethical (like most of politics). For bonus fun, we can see which posters were wringing hands or excusing the activity in one thread, and compare those same names to the second! Pots and kettles, geese and ganders and all that

Hitler was a fascist-socialist. A crazed one, but a socialist nonetheless. Seems more akin to Obamas model than Trumps to me. But really neither are like Hitler. Bcause Hitler was mf Hitler.

It seems he is continually pushing the envelop of acceptable candidate behavior. Where past candidates would shrink from such comparisons, Trump seems to relish in them. I sometimes think that what he is really doing is setting up the biggest political 'gottcha' of all time. Somewhere down the line he will just through his arms up in the air and go 'gottcha, only kidding, couldn't you tell?"

Do you really think that if you were a fly on the wall in our nations capital that just chilling on the wall wouldn't show you just how NOT SO respectable these people are?

Do you really want to feel like you're in church when listening to or being in the presence of a politician? Hell! I love how politicians in other countries raise their voices and get in fist fights! They are human beings just as we are, why put them on a pedestal and pretend they care about people they will most likely ever meet? How many times have you seen a politician speaking on television and wanted to or did yell "You damned liar!"? Why shouldn't any other politician be able to call out another for out right not telling the truth?

Try and write your Senator OR Congresscritter a letter about your concern about an upcoming bill! Done it several times and guess what? I get a canned response that does not even address my concern or a response that totally let's me know, the lobbyists already got to them.

At this point, I already mourn for my country. I refuse to be part of another four years of lies and manipulations, so voting for Trump in my opinion, is nothing more than saying I don't give a damn any more.

I am tired of my government officials wearing "wife beaters" and forgiving them because I actually believe they love me!

He was just a WW1 veteran and aspiring artist before he became the face of evil; every dictator had their sunny beginnings.

Don't worry you will get Hilary, what with her being a Bilderberger and all that.

The Establishment are doing their best to make sure of it as well, they did not expect Trump to be doing so well at this stage, it should have been Jeb.

No, you will have a Democrat President and a Republican senate blocking her every move, except for where war is concerned. That, they will agree on.

Yea, I know, being honest is just so not chic.

Can't take another four years of things getting worse while politicians further divide us and the masses who bitch about the establishment year after year fall into their trap yet once again?

Even a dog is smart enough to eventually bite his owner for abusing him.........

No, he was not a socialist.

europeanhistory.about.com...

The guy banned unions and used red scare tactics to demonize both communism and socialism.
