Institutional Racism...ah, the new buzzword. Think about this. Is it this holding people back, or is it the environment that they are brought up in.

I had a situation come up this past weekend. I coach 9-12 year old baseball. Two kids were arguing, one shoved the other and I asked them what's going on. This is a 10 year old HIspanic child who looks at me and says " he does not think Trump is a racist". I then took a step back because I wanted to know where this came from. So I asked him, and the other kid, where they heard this as they should not be watching the news I said. They should be watching cartoons..

The kid looked at me and said "my mom and grandma said it. He hates Hispanics"...I was floored. This is a 9 year old kid who is learning in the incorrect way about life. This will transpose to white people hate Hispanics within the next few years. Then, for the rest of his life, he will blame anyone but himself for not getting ahead. The same thing happens to white people who tell their kids all the blacks get the jobs or the black parent who blames the police and 'the man' for everything.

It starts at home. In hearing what the kid says, I can see, the Progressive Democratic Agenda in motion. Keep them mad at each other and they will not get mad at us.

There are all black colleges...scholarships...work programs ( I was out of work in my early 20's and was told Job Corps could not help they were filling ethnic spots)...mentoring. There are fantastic leaders of industry of color who rose above this garbage and made it for themselves, not their race, to get ahead. Now, the same can be said for lazy, self-entitled white people also but folks, there are rich black people in the world.

Now, think about this. Talk about racism...when was the last time you saw two native americans hanging out who were not on a reservation, running a casino or working as an Indian at a state park? Never hear about their plight....

let me ask you, though, is it possibly racist if-

- testing for higher education and placement includes questions that would be out of the scope of context of specific racial demographics? Or maybe religious?
- dress codes are designed to be friendly to a style of dress only seen in areas where minorities are not typically mixed within (such as suit and tie)?
- zoning in municipalities forces all "undesirable business" into locations near your neighborhood?
- language chosen for testing/placement is not part of the daily vernacular of the population being tested (I can use words that make even the best English speaker wonder what language I am speaking...and tests are designed as such quite often)
- We won't even get into the subtle racism that can exist within job recruiting/interviewing, right under the noses of those performing the recruiting

Im not saying that people are purposefully trying to keep other folks down. Only that we have "common sense" measures in place that, when analyzed, actually might have a much more damaging effect than we had thought.

Demo-rats and rethuglicans are just the good cop and bad cop, both work for the corporations.

Bernie loves corporations too.

Robbing from the rich, and 'givin' to the poor ALL so they can go out, and buy more stuff.

Made by corporations!

Food Stamps for example?

Makes the JP Morgan BILLIONS on EBT fee transactions.

Monsanto BILLIONS with that 'free' GMO food.

BIg pharma with the birth control 'CRAZE'.

Big Pharma, and Hospitals with the 'universal' healthcare hydro chloro bullhockey.

Don't even get me started on 'Climate' change that would replace the 'passe' energy cartel with a 'new and improved' version.

I digress.

Who cares I want my FREE snip, and GUARANTEE them 'evil' corporations more money in an OFFSHORE bank!

God bless 'Merika' everyone!

What a dumb argument. Poor white Republicans have been voting too. Also still poor. What's your point? Are you saying establishment politicians in some way give a crap about their constituents? But only the non-Dems? Nevermind, I don't care I'm still high on the Bern after last night.

Another straw I'm seeing grasped this morning is "he was mean to Hillary! He interrupted her when she was interrupting him! That's sexist! "

HAHAHAHAHA. He literally said "Excuse me, I'm talking". Which he was. And the best part was when they were really sniping at each other and he said something to the effect of "you can tell your story when I'm done" and she retorted very shrilly "I WILL!" and it sounded awful and petulant and amazing and every time they've replayed it on TV and online I can't stop laughing. She had a few very rocky moments with tone last night. Starting the first time she opened her mouth.

About ten years ago I was sleeping on a bed of my own clothes (half of which burned up when my only lamp fell over on it and caught fire). I had no furniture, and my room was a 10x10 open area on the floor of a friends 1 bedroom crappy apartment. But I wasn't poor, because I'm white. I joined the military and did my 4 years to get out of that hole. I guess I should've just asked Bernie to force someone to give me money for free.

The dumb 'argument' was this asinine statement

Bernie Sanders - 'When You're White You Don't Know What It's Like To Be Poor'

I do have to laugh at a two WHITE people talking about 'racism', and their supporters. That are predominately WHITE.

I just chalk it up to their white 'privilege'.

Gee NEO. Why don't you post the entire thing he said? I mean I know I'll end up having to do it myself. But I'll play for now.

I don't know that the rest of it helps much, considering that his whole point was based around pandering to race politics. Clearly, he slipped up and it came out wrong, and I'm sure he didn't mean it that way, BUT its so bad and so insulting to poor rural whites that no explanation or context is going to matter much.

Think I will quote this bull snip.

We must pursue policies to transform this country into a nation that affirms the value of its people of color. That starts with addressing the five central types of violence waged against black, brown and indigenous Americans: physical, political, legal, economic and environmental.

Bernie is a master propagandist.

Actually tying climate change, socialism, and legal issues in to a single 'issue'.

Perpetrated by the State Sandra Bland, Michael Brown, Rekia Boyd, Eric Garner, Walter Scott, Freddie Gray, Jessica Hernandez, Tamir Rice, Jonathan Ferrell, Oscar Grant, Antonio Zambrano-Montes, Samuel DuBose and Anastacio Hernandez-Rojas. We know their names. Each of them died unarmed at the hands of police officers or in police custody. The chants are growing louder. People are angry and they have a right to be angry. We should not fool ourselves into thinking that this violence only affects those whose names have appeared on TV or in the newspaper. African-Americans are twice as likely to be arrested and almost four times as likely to experience the use of force during encounters with the police. African-American and Latinos comprise well over half of all prisoners, even though African-Americans and Latinos make up approximately one quarter of the total US population.

berniesanders.com...

The word of the day is PANDERING by an old senile WHITE guy.

Anytime a left winger uses the word 'justice' you can damn well guarantee is has nothing to do with what the word means.

The OP doesn't bother giving the full quote...misconstruing what he said. That's too bad because if you listened to what he fully said you'd know he wasn't been an idiot, just slightly clumsy with his words.

It was an awkward statement but if you listen to his full answer, he was talking about institutional racism, not saying that you can't be white and poor. FFS.

Shot himself in the foot, again.

I'm "white" (lighter skinned is proper terminology), and I've lived the poor struggle most of my life.

Rent, food, diet, supporting my disciplines.. life .

All I have to say, F*k You Bern.
