I agree, but poor Bernie is too old and decrepit, if he wins he will go into history as one term president and the lamest one.

Oh god Bernie is going to win, They can't leave Obama as the lamest one.

Oh, just put all three of them in there. It'll be like watching a four-year long episode of the Three Stooges trying to fit through the same doorway at the same. We're going to get screwed over in the end no matter who or what anyway, so the least they could do is make it entertaining for us!

At the risk of sounding morbid. The only two things stopping her is the FBI and the Grim Reaper. I think the Grim Reaper has better odds. She doesn't seem to be doing all that well.

I think the OP sums it up quite succinctly.
This is a terrible predicament our nation is facing. I've been watching the drama unfold for a long time as I'm somewhat of a news junkie.

I am an Independent and have always voted; and voted equally between Republicans and Democrats in both local and national elections. I've never used my option for a write-in vote as I realize it is a throw-away and won't make a difference.

Therefore, I'm faced with the lesser of three evils. Although in recent years my loyalties have leaned Libertarian or Republican, I would call myself a moderate conservative. On social issues, I tend more left; on the fiscal end, more right. Everything else is in a miss-mash in-between. (And through the decades, I'm guilty for having changed my mind about issues.)

There is no way in hell I would vote for Hill. (And I'll probably be facing that scenario if Madeline Albright has her way.) I won't even go into the reasons why, since I already mentioned I'm a news-junkie. And I hang around here on ATS and read a lot....If she were my only choice I'd vote a write-in.

I haven't been caught up in The Bern. Foremost, he is a socialist. He would never get my vote. If he were the only choice I'd vote a write-in as well. That said, I do have some compassion for the man. I think he's a well-intentioned idealist, but doesn't have both feet in reality. How the masses can be so ignorant of what socialism really is - is beyond me. Do the young people even realize if they get free education it would no longer be their choice where and what they study in college. They will be funneled into what Big Brother thinks best.

And where do they think the jobs will be that are waiting for them for $15 an hour after they graduate?
What about his stance on fighting the enemy abroad - by suggesting fixing their environmental issues such as in cleaning up their rivers and streams. This solution will also provide the enemy with jobs, and then kumbaya...they won't hate us anymore. I could go on...but I know I don't need to preach to the choir.

That leaves Trump. IMO he's the lesser of three evils.
Let me tell you why.
Yes, he's a narcissist, but that isn't necessarily all bad. These kind of people can also have an altruistic streak, they can bestow with great generosity - of themselves, and of any and all they have to give- because, after all, it feeds into their personal ego. They do not allow themselves to fail. Their own ego wouldn't let them. I have found, throughout history, most people of great power, or even of "greatness", have had their strange quirks and egomaniacal tenancies.

Trump's got it all. He has no other "need" to be President. I think he will surround himself with the finest - the best of the best - of advisory boards. He will do his very best for America because he wouldn't dream of leaving a lesser image of himself for a legacy. And besides himself and his family, I believe he truly does love this country.

That brings me to his family. I think they are an ace in his pocket and he's only recently started showing this hand. His eldest daughter, Ivanka, who is extremely pregnant will most likely become more involved in his campaign after she gives birth. She is a dynamo amongst young voters; a delightful young lady, who I would say has an "good head on hers shoulders". Her personality will reach out and resonate with many young voters. Also his oldest son, Eric, has gotten involved in the campaign. Here too is what appears to be a fine young man. I don't know much about the other children, but if these two are any indication, then Trump must have done something right while fathering them.

I have also been watching his wife Milania for a while. She's recently become more visible and I predict she will start increasing her appearances. She is a definite asset to him. I actually believe she would make a great first lady and be a wonderful representative for our country. She is gentle, family-orientated, highly educated, (speaks multiple languages) and was wealthy in her own right before meeting Trump, so she didn't exactly need his money. They had a seven year relationship before she married him. I respect her independence as well her morals and values in raising their son.

Speaking of morals and values. I think Trump hands down beats Hillary in this arena. (I don't know about The Bern.) I believe Trump has high standards and walks his talk. Obviously he's an energetic, hard worker, with courage and determination. I think he's shrewd, but believes in "a fair enough trade" (businessmen speak) and he believes in equality and opportunity for all. He doesn't drink, doesn't smoke...If he's President there won't be any backroom snorting going on, or rumors of inappropriate behavior amongst the white house staff. I predict "you're fired" will be heard repeatedly throughout the corridors. And I do believe he knows how to put Americans to work beginning with rebuilding our fragile infrastructure.

So I guess I'd take a chance on Trump. IMO I feel he is deserving of four years to see what he can shake up. It can't be worse then we have. I do feel he is our best choice at this time.

Which lack-wit am I voting for?

None of 'em. I'll vote for someone else, on one of the multitudinous third/fourth parties out there.

No, he or she won't win. ...and it's probably, for now, futile. But there are more like me every time. Eventually, a third party candidate is going to catch on. It's come oh so close a couple of times in my lifetime. John Anderson, and Ross Perot came within a fantasy of breaking through...

I'm not alone in my holding a candle against the dark...or raging, either. Eventually, it's going to happen.

...and if I don't like any of the other choices out there, which is very possible...I'll write my self in. I couldn't possibly do worse then the last few clowns we've had in the office.

You could at least, with me, be assured of a cabinet of people who are not politicians masquerading as experts in the field...

Doesn't look like the votes are going to matter this "go round".

1) the primaries became a team effort last night with a "Trump vs. Everyone" coming out into the open
I especially liked how they continued to ask him about the civil case he has pending (as almost every major business will have), but not a mention of the case being allowed against Cruz's citizenship (which has direct bearing on the Presidency).

2) a Brokered Election is being set up in which case the peoples votes will be cast aside and we will be given the choice of a two time failed candidate (Romney) or a 40 year veteran of the system that just wants to "get along" and talk about how HE balanced the budget during one of the biggest booms in modern times (Kasich)

3) Hillary is going to get the nomination and nothing is going to stop that. There will be no indictment, no trial, no prison, no pardon. She is the democrat darling and the power in the country is Democrat (have the power = make the rules).

4) Bernie never had a chance to begin with. He was an Independent running as a Democrat simply because he couldn't run as an Independent. The people know that. Promises will only carry a person so far, after that a person "has to eat".

One thing (good or bad) about this election cycle, is it will allow a little more of the curtain to be pulled back. People at the top are very worried about the masses seeing how the system works and because of that they are letting slip words and phrases that may have never come to light otherwise.

The Republicans (of which I have been a member of for 30 years) have shown that it was never about race with their obstructionism of President Obama. It was all about him not being the President they wanted. So, they will not work with a Democrat and will not work with a Republican they don't like, it only leaves one alternative. Vote in the President they allow you to and you will have the democracy you've always wanted.

The Democrats have shown that regardless of what crimes a candidate has committed against the nation, as long as they have the right name and they have a "D" behind that name their vote is assured.

Two wings of the same bird indeed.

Pour the gas, light the match, burn!

Guess what? Your vote doesn't matter.
Whoever wins doesn't matter, either.

Something like 80% of congress is up to be replaced, but my guess is they won't be. Even if they were, the replacements would just be fresh meat- and easier to keep on the payroll of big business than the current set of puppets.

Another clown leads the parade of silliness farther down this path we've been on for over one hundred years, with all of us marching in line at gunpoint- many of us cheering for their side.

Go to the Winchester, have a pint, and wait for this whole "election" thing to blow over. The only thing you'll notice when its all said and done is you'll be losing rights a bit faster than you are today.

If all the candidates already represent the fascist multinational's that rule most of our planet, its a waste of breath discussing which head, of the two headed snake, is better or worse. Perhaps better to hold our own democratic elections within ATS. Selecting a member of ATS that you'd prefer as president. At the very least it might send a message to the puppet masters that the veil they hide behind has become too transparent.

It is Hillary vs

(1) Trump
(2) Cruz
(3) Rubio

Who the GOP nominate will depend on how much they want to battle during/jerry-rig the Convention.

Trump vs. Hillary? Hillary wins. No one likes Hillary, but Trump can't talk for more than 30 seconds about anyone or anything than himself.

Cruz and Rubio actually Poll as beating Hillary in a General Election...Hillary vs. Trump?...Hillary crushes him in the Polls.

Alas...my take?

Hillary...Will be an irritating place holder in the White House...No change..but not the end of times either.

Trump as POTUS? He might as well choose a Kardaschian as VP and just declare America over and plaster TRUMP in big gold letters in the WH lawn.

Cruz?...A bit of an idiot..but I would take him over Trump.

Rubio?...Not really likable at all, but the smartest of the GOP lot..Also Polls the best against and beats Hillary in a General Election..

My call? Hillary will win it.

Wish we had better choices...looking forward to 2020 already

Don't hold your breath.

He didn't take the 5th because he did anything fully illegal...He took the 5th because he thought it was a witch-hunt and he would be dragged into the election nonsense.

They gave him immunity in hopes he has some bombshell to share...but Donuts to Dollars it will be pretty damn boring nonsense.

Lawyers will often ask for this in cases like this. Since he set up the server in her home only he can answer whether they had conversations that were criminal like "Can I bypass security and send this to my comrades?". You know stuff like that.
That the FBI nor the Justice Department have commented on this means that any opinion about what this or that means is speculative and premature.
That's all I mean for now.
Ill have more to say on it later I'm sure.

The fixing their environment abroad is a great idea.

Just like it was back when Kennedy started the Peace Corps. In the early sixties.

Still a great idea.
Corporate water rights is a good place to start . Give the people back their God given right to water. Sorry I digress...

Normally yes...it is weird to demand a grant of immunity or declare the 5th if you have nothing to hide...but when politics are involved and congressional hearings and such...and the sense that someone is going to get nailed to a wall no matter what....people clam up quick on lawyers advice...a grant of immunity does not mean he was hiding a crime, but rather a promise that they wont's crucify him and he can speak freely etc..

That is my sense of it having lived long enough to watch plenty of congressional hearings..

Rarely does declaring the 5th or getting immunity amount to much.
