There is a lot of truth to this article. Trump voters, the Tea Party and other barbarians on the right want the "right" to be destructive, obnoxious, selfish, immature, asses and they're tired of people trying to make them be civilized.
They're also tired of not "fitting in" the economy, however a lot of it's their own damn fault. They don't want to spend the effort to get educated despite being warned for decades that education is the path to success. They waste tens of thousands of dollars on silly things like monster trucks and dirt bikes and quads and then claim that the government is bankrupting them with taxes.
But they are right that the business and corporate world has been screwing most Americans. Too bad they helped let it happen because they believed fairy tales from morons who sold them on deregulation, tax cuts, massive military spending and basically letting the wealthy elites run the country.

" These Americans want a kind of freedom—a freedom to hate. They want the freedom to use words like (fill in the blank, removed for T and C purposes) They want the freedom to idealize violence and the gun culture. They want the freedom to have enemies, to physically assault Muslims, undocumented workers, African-Americans, homosexuals and anyone who dares criticize their cryptofascism. They want the freedom to celebrate historical movements and figures that the college-educated elites condemn, including the Ku Klux Klan and the Confederacy. They want the freedom to ridicule and dismiss intellectuals, ideas, science and culture. They want the freedom to silence those who have been telling them how to behave. And they want the freedom to revel in hypermasculinity, racism, sexism and white patriarchy. These are the core sentiments of fascism. These sentiments are engendered by the collapse of the liberal state... "
This is Total FICTION . What these People REALLY Want is the Return to the RULE OF LAW . The Federal Government at Present is LAWLESS when it comes to the Constitutional Rights of it's Citizens . They have had Enough of the Criminals and Traitors who at every turn Violate the Very Laws that the Average American considers the Foundation of a Free Nation . Political Correctness has become a Subversive attach against Freedom of Speech that these Political Parasites use to under mind the very fabric of American Society . Yes , People are Angry , and Rightfully so , this is NOT what the United States of America is supposed to be .
"Neo-liberalism" is a set of economic policies that have become widespread during the last 25 years or so. Although the word is rarely heard in the United States, you can clearly see the effects of neo-liberalism here as the rich grow richer and the poor grow poorer.

The unwashed masses actually want freedom of speech, freedom of association, the right to own guns, the right to self defense and for laws to actually be enforced?
They are sick od the ruling class making laws that favor big international corporation, insurance companies and big Pharma?
They are upset that college tuition has quadrupled disproportionatly from other economic indicators just in the last two decades and health care costs are even worse despite the most hospitlals declaring themselves non-profit?
Thats racist and fascist!!!
Yeah, lower and middle class Whites have had it - as have Blacks and Hispanics but it's been the 2 party system pitting the American people of all races against each other. There's no basis for any organic hatred between them, its the endless stream of propaganda from the MSM and University elites making tired connections to racial tensions and acts from years ago.
Most Americans have changed their attitudes about race tremendously over the last 50 years. Without outside agitation and forced competition we'd get along fine for the most part.
